JourneyMan
His batting will get better. He wont avergae 40 plus But could be 30 plus man Will have some decent knocks in future and get some valuable 50s Now that you've said this, he's probably going to continue failing with the bat Link to comment
Trichromatic
If he's picked for the series and scores even a random fifty' date=' he'll make it on the plane later in the year to Saffrica, where Steyn and Philander'll deal with him bigtime.[/quote'] He is in Africa for his bowling. Who would have though that? Link to comment
fineleg
I think it is a very promising performance. It is a shame his batting has fallen away but he really does look a potentially very good spinner. Cannot fault much he has done with the ball so far. It is classic spin bowling. His batting has not fallen away. This is how he bats. He was always a very limited batsman and can score some runs against weaker attacks or on flat pattas. Against better Test match bowling attacks his batting will struggle. He should be looked at as a spin bowling option who can bat better than Ojha but not as good a technique (batting) as Ashwin. Ashwin, Ojha, Jadeja - these are the current options. I think Rasool can bat? If so Rasool can be an option in the future? (provided he can bowl well). Link to comment
fineleg
What are the bowling style differences (pros/cons) Ojha vs Jadeja ? Ojha - more classical left arm spinner, specialist bowler, can bowl long spells since he is a specialist, better loop, flight and turn Jadeja - unconventional, more ODI type fast arc spinner, less turn than Ojha but more accurate and controlled, can think better and smarter cricketer overall than Ojha/Ashwin? FIELDING, RUNNING BETWEEN WICKETS - no comparison. Ashwin and Ojha are ROFL worthy Link to comment
King Tendulkar
Now that you've said this' date=' he's probably going to continue failing with the bat[/quote'] Good joke that. Not heard that one before:hysterical: Link to comment
vipin
I don't think he'll just have a 20-esque batting average. A guy with a first class average of 50 and 3 triple hundreds would be good enough to average a decent 35 - 40 in the long run. I know you'd argue how easy it is to achieve these feats in Ranji, but still not many have these kinds of accomplishments, even in Ranji. (Raina and Yuvraj are cases in point). Link to comment
King Tendulkar
If he carries on bowling like this and averages 30 with bat, then we will be over the moon. Find it difficult to imagine he wont sneak up to 30 with bat in long term Link to comment

JourneyMan
why so?to me he looks 20-25 avg player best I'm backing QT on this one, Jaddu has shown a positive attitude and has improved a lot in a short amount of time. He needs to work on his batting, but it will certainly improve. The guy knows how to bat, he's just not doing it at the top level yet. Link to comment
King Tendulkar
why so?to me he looks 20-25 avg player best Nah he is ok if not amazing. will certainly get 50s at times and be in good partnerships Link to comment
express bowling
Surprisingly, Sir Jaddu has looked better against pace than against spin in recent times. He will surely become a 35+ avg. batter in tests in the medium run. Link to comment
fineleg
One good thing abt Sir is - 2/3 years ago, he was dismissed by nearly evryone as malnourished talentless pants cricketer. Sir = definition of mediocrity (supposedly!) He proved all of us wrong in ODIs! Hats off! And he was written off in Tests and has been decent so far in a few Tests. So he has the ability to fight against naysayers and improve. That is valuable trait. I hope he can bowl very well and can offer serious competition to Ojha/Ashwin and his fielding is big! The Outsider
Jaddu's bowling is a revelation. Couldn't care less about his hacky batting as long as he bowls this well. Only better potential I see is Rasool - the guy is special. Link to comment
Deleted_User_1
Why the feck do we need Fatwin, if we have SIR!! Link to comment
Trichromatic
His batting abilities shouldn't even be questioned for now. India should look to play him more often as regular spinner and whatever he adds with bat should be bonus. Of course you expect more from the player averaging 50 in FC cricket. But first think we should look to is whether he is able to do well with ball in India and overseas. That should be his primary task. Link to comment
rkt.india
sir will always do well with the ball in India. Link to comment
eternalhope
He will do well even outside India. He gets his body behind the delivery giving him the extra nip of the wicket, which was why Warne was so effective. Not many in world cricket can do that. He is very accurate apart from it. He will only get better. Link to comment
Raghav_12
If he can average somewhere around 25-30 outside subcontinent, I'll take him being a very good all rounder. Can't say whether he would achieve that. Batting wise he looks very low on confidence. Link to comment

If he continues to improve against pace, then he'll do better. I'll be happy if he averages 35-40 with the bat, and if he continues to average 20 with the ball. Only thing is, he should improve his bowling S/R. Keep it to around 50. Link to comment

If Jadeja manages to average 25-30, he will become our best bowler ever. Link to comment
