right now this bowling line up is perfect at home just replace yadav/shami with ishant.but saf' date='pak tour india they can shake our batting line up so you need a proper #6 like rahane to stabalize the batting..now ashwin will play so who`ll be our 2nd spinner? i`ll go with ojha rather than jadeja[/quote'] there will be one spinner only.6 bats+Dhoni+Ashwin+3 pacers(excluding Ishant hopefully)

1. How is dismissing the opposition for 350 on a patta a poor result? 2. Recent form is more important than career records which your analysis ignores completely. 3. Dhoni has himself admitted to using Ojha in a run stopping mode on many occasions. In those cases one would also account for his economy rate in any analysis.
1. All those 4-wicket hauls were not "pattas". So rather than focusing on microscopic details look at the big picture. It is your argument that Jadeja will perform poorly than Ojha on a patta. I see no data to prove it. Since, we are talking hypothetically I can make any statement I want just like you went ahead and said anything you want to. 2. In this case, the number of 4 wicket hauls go down even further. Use the "recent form" and what I said still holds true. 3. The reverse question to you is - How does Ojha become a wicket taking bowler? At best he then becomes an economical bowler. Even in that department Jadeja beats him though, finally. :giggle:

ojha avg 24 in last 9 tests, jadeja`s avg 23 in last 4 tests..both are in good form and playing. ojha was the best bowler against a good english side, how is jadeja better than ojha?
Yea compare averages over 9 and 4 Test matches. I clearly posted by issue with Ojha - his penchant for going for "centuries" when picking up 5'ers. In any case, How is Ojha better than Jadeja which is your postulation? :dontknow:
Because stats guru says that 3 years back he took 5/150.:hysterical:
Oh man you are so funny. Even George Carlin took a leaf out of your humor book. I hope this satisfies you for the next week or so. Lets get back to serious business? Out of the 6 innings where I posted, 4 innings were recent form. 4/142, 4/120, 5/143 (this on a pitch like Mumbai FFS  ). This my dear friend is what you would like to call "intellectual dishonesty". Talk about recent form.

I'll wait for another 2 years when our away tours cycle is completed.
you are talking like Ojha and even Ashwin are gonna run through sides abroad in England Aus.

Which he will do this innings because of flat pitch and depleted bowling conditions and lineup. Plus he's due for a big score now. Getting a 5fer will increase his confidence.

Perfect - the second spinner's spot (as of now) is up for grabs. Ojha is not our "best bowler" ATM.

Hello? England tour was just 4 matches. Anyone can shine in one particular series. I am also making an issue of the SR not the average. Today's game once again shows the same point, 2/98 @3.5 including the wicket of the great Hughes. Neither is his economy that great nor do his wickets come at a decent cost.

What sorcery are you doing here? :dontknow: Don't compare selective statistics in one incompleter series! In the list which I have given, it clearly shows that whenever he picks up wickets he goes for "centuries". Most of the those centuries are recent numbers.

I'm in no mood to indulge in a bout of mindless number crunching. To anyone who followed this season it should be obvious that Ojha has been India's best bowler.

He doesn't become a wicket taking bowler if he is being used in a holding role. He becomes a wicket taking bowler when he is being used as a wicket taking option.

He played 6 Test matches this season and has performed well for 4 out of those 6 Test matches. However, it has cost India a lot of runs and has had a poor SR. In addition, he went of the boil in the last Test match at Nagpur. Even today's game he bowled worse than Jadeja - took lesser wickets (one was that of Hughes and one should be owed to the WK than Ojha), worse economy rate (went more than 1 RPO more than Jadeja) and even notched up his customary "century". Currently, neither is he a wicket taking option nor is he an economical option. So, as for the earlier assertion that Ojha is better than Jadeja on flat tracks - this innings shows otherwise in each & every bowling department. Not to forget the number of runs he may leak as a fielder with Jadeja. He just did a Harbhajan in this Test match. That said, I am still not confident about Jadeja being the 2nd spinner for India. He's the 3rd spinner - much like Chauhan, Raju etc. were for us in the 90s.

It seems you are hell bent on downplaying every Ojha wicket. Ojha also had a catch dropped off his bowling, is Hughes worse than Siddle regardless his struggle against spin, and then comes the Dhoni pooja to make it sound like the stumping had nothing to do with good bowling.
