The Outsider Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 And Sachin scoring runs now has kind of proved that dropping him might have been wrong and that he still has it in him. His footwork is still one of the best in the team and he is scoring runs. But wait, scoring runs is not important anymore, its how soon you can drop someone just because he is senior WTF are you talking about? Tendulkar and scoring runs? :hysterical: Average 32 last 2 years, 19 tests, no centuries, 40 years old.
Number Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 Batate chalein' date= what has he done in the last 2 years since the WC and why it is wrong to say anything against him if he is not performing? Guys like Kohli are scoring runs in his presence.
carnish Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 Can you guys name one poster who has been banned from the site or even given warnings for criticizing/praising a particular cricketer? I take this seriously because the main motivation for this site was that users should not feel administrative handicaps while expressing opinions on cricketers. Outsider, It was a troll comment on putrevus cause today he has been going against Sachin and brings him into all threads.

He was still our 2nd best Bat in both ENG and AUS tour. Not having him would have been a mistake. However it would have been different if he had continued the form he showed during the New Zealand series.

I take this seriously because the main motivation for this site was that users should not feel administrative handicaps while expressing opinions on cricketers. What I meant by that post was that some people don't like him and will criticize him whether he performs well or he does badly, so many of the fans have realized that its useless to debate with those people on this topic. I wasn't naming any poster/giving any examples of people being banned.

carnish Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 Sorry I did not want to bring him into all threads that's why I created this one. Its ok since you're an old and good poster. Ignore my comment, you can easily express your views but its irritating to read when things get out of context.
putrevus Posted March 7, 2013 Author Posted March 7, 2013 And people talk about Sachin fans going over the top when we have to put up with such cr@p. Yeh bolded part apko sapne mai aaya tha ya kissi astrologer ne apka hath dekh kar bola tha ki beta' date=' go and mouth the first nonsense which comes out of your mouth? Sachin took a long hard look at himself, discussed with the selectors and mutally decided he is not going to continue till world cup 2015 so better rertire. He has said this, selectors have said this, but yet you come up with the bolded part? [/quote'] I did not come up with bolded part,It sure looks that way when he decided to quit ODI right after he got that mile stone.
Muloghonto Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 There is little or no cricketing reason to drop Tendulkar. I personally don't care how old he is, he still has safe catching hands and is quite easily one of our top 4 middle order bats. He's had a bad couple of series ( vs NZ and England) but he seems to be comming out of it.

Sachin=GOD Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 Point taken and apologies for jumping the gun. no problems :icflove:

His footwork is still one of the best in the team and he is scoring runs. But wait' date=' scoring runs is not important anymore, its how soon you can drop someone just because he is senior[/quote'] Do you seriously think Tendulkar can still score hundreds and runs consistently? He hasn't scored a 100 in Tests for more than 2 years now and given he's 40 what's ther to persist with. Other than our openers he's the weakest link in the middle order with both Pujara and Kohli better than him and if given a shot players like Rahane/Rohit/Tiwary may do more just like Pujara did when he was given his chance after Dravid & Laxman retired. Bad couple of series? He's had a bad couple of years with no 100s in the last 2 years or thereabouts. As for he's "one of the top 4 middle order bats" the team only has 4 middle order bats so you will always be in the top 4 unless someone new gets a look-in :giggle: Pujara has shown how much we erred by persisting with Laxman & Dravid in Aus. Why not give the same chance to likes of Rahane, Rohit or Tiwary? Don't they deserve a fair chance before making statements like they are not one of the top 4 middle order bats? Kohli and Pujara are currently both better than Tendulkar in the middle order and I have no doubt Rahane will prove to be the same if given a chance.

He played 1 test in SA where he couldnt score much. Dont over hype him. He still has to learn a lot when it comes to playing in foreign conditions and hopefully he will do that too. Same with Kohli who has played only in Australia. Rahane, Tiwary, Vijay have little to no experience overseas. Dont compare them to Laxman, Dravid already.
