NareshK
Dhoni himself mentioned a stat at the toss : He lost 28 out of 32 tosses in the IPL. That's seriously bad luck at least as far as tosses are concerned. But importantly, he has made up for it by winning majority games in IPL and ODIs. Link to comment

I6MTW
Why doesn't Dhoni do malpractice with the coin and replace it with a coin that has the same side? Link to comment

StatsRock
Gavaskar oftens mentions the story of a captain who used to practice tossing a coin about 50 times before a game. The trick is to spin the coin in such a way that it lands on the ground with exactly one flip - if you spin with the heads side up, after flipping, he'd make it land with the tail up. :--D Link to comment
Desi Cartman
Even when he wins, he asks the referee for a re-toss. FGor example: WC final vs SL Link to comment

NameGoesHere
Everyone knows that a in order to be a credible conspiracy theory, 'lose' must be spelled as 'loose'. Thus OP should have asked: "Why does Dhoni always loose tosses?" Read that and you start to believe in the CT already. Link to comment
