Sarkar Posted March 24, 2013 Posted March 24, 2013 Stop stereotyping audio people Holi is celebrated in south just like diwali raksha bandhan dasara in vizag we used to celebrate on the roads some idiots use to throw eggs as well that was more disgusting
nikred Posted March 24, 2013 Posted March 24, 2013 Hyderabad is a retarded city without any identity. Its neither here nor there. Neither North Indian or South Indian, neither Hindu nor Muslim and even the telugu people are divided by caste like Reddy, Kamma, Kapu and region like Telangana, Andhra, Rayalseema etc. No wonder terrorists are ruling the roost there because of divisions in society. What BS. Saying Hyderabad doesn't have any identity is like saying Steyn doesn't have any pace. Hyderabad is an awesome city with amazing culture fusion. I take great pride in being a Hyderabadi. It is not some aira gaira city, it has a very important place in History. :isalute: edit.....and it is a very fast developing city too. Once the telangana issue is dealt with, it will only grow more.

coffee_rules Posted March 24, 2013 Posted March 24, 2013 South Karnataka, TN and Kerala, don't celebrate Holi like the rest of the country. Very true.
The Dark Horse Posted March 24, 2013 Posted March 24, 2013 Chill...I even liked that punjabi-tamil marriage ad of maruti..

No question there's some retardation going on in that post, but it has got nothing to do with Hyderabad. :agree:
Mariyam Posted March 24, 2013 Posted March 24, 2013 What's up with these ads stereotyping South Indians on tv that I've been seeing lately and mocking them about their food habits, accent etc ? I wonder what would be the reaction if North Indians are stereotyped in ads as rapists and criminals, Muslims as terrorists, Gujaratis as money minded misers, Bongs as communist coolies etc. But that will never happen because these ads are made by North Indian losers themselves. Raj Thackeray is the best task master for these guys as he whoops their asses regularly and keeps them in line. Its not just the ads. Even mainstream Bollywood has these caricature like portrayals of Tamilians. Remember M A Iyer ( Mithun) from Agnipath. And if such a blatantly offensive and stereotypical and larger than life character wasn't bad enough, Mithun even won a Filmfare and a national award for the role. :yikes:  And all this during the tenure of PV Narsimha Rao, who himself was a southie. Lets face facts. Tamilians are never going to be mainstream characters in the Punjabi dominated Bollywood or in the Marwari and Gujarati dominated mainstream ad space.Secession is the only way. The poster yoda maybe able to help you with that. He has always harboured such thoughts.
Mariyam Posted March 24, 2013 Posted March 24, 2013 On topic: What about Bollywood portrayal of Muslims? Can it get anymore stereotypical? The only Muslim characters are either 1) the terrorist in an ill fitting pathani and a 5 Rs bandana that you get outside any suburban railway station in Mumbai 2) the good brother/brother in law/ father of the terrorist who talks the terrorist out of the terror or shoots him down. Have yet to come across a love story or a comedy where the main protagonists are Muslims. Its always Karan Khurna or Raj Malhotra or Rahul Kapoor. Down with the Punjabization (is that even a word?) of Bollywood. :protest:
coffee_rules Posted March 24, 2013 Posted March 24, 2013 ^Also, they usually show Muslims as followers only, never as non-believers. Any one seen a scene where a muslim character abuses god like AB Sr in Dewaar? - bahut khush to hoge aaj tum!

But we do have movies with the irreligious Muslim side hero reciting the Kalma just before dying.

Don't confuse religion with region. Punjabis can be Hindu, Muslim, Sikh, etc. For example, Mohammad Rafi was a Punjabi.

Worst one of all has to be the scene in that dumb movie Ra.One where he mixes curd with noodles just because he is a South Indian.
