has problems with rbw and fielding..it would be a return to ganguly ,laxman and manjrekar.he can maintain a higher strike rate than they did.but my preference would be someone without these weaknesses. for 40 yrs, indian cricket has been mocked in these areas and when the standard is finally lookin good(barring bowlers), you want to let it slip.ashwin is bad enough.

pujara in for yuvi' date=' and rahane in for raina for the next two odis. They need to face steyn and co on these pitches before the tests.[/quote'] would be very ideal .Considering these two don't look like scoring. The idea of having Raina and Yuvraj was to have an explosive finish from Raina and good stabilization and finish by Yuvraj. Doesn't look like happening. Atleast Pujara and Rahane can gain some practice. India has quick scorers in Dhawan, Kohli, Dhoni. Others can focus on building it.

What are you talking about? This was a blunder of epic proportions. Not only he would be way better than Yuvraj or Raina in these conditions, but it would have also given him the opportunity to acclimatize before the tests. Moronic decision from the selectors.

I would have Pujara in the squad and prefer him over Yuvi or Raina anyday, he averages in 50's in domestic odi and have seen him play at least three big 100's in odi domestic and very attacking innings so yes he can turn it on.

He does not have any issue with RBW and fielding. He had when he was early after knee injuries but now he is as fine as anyone.
