T20 cricket is exciting when there are lots of 4s and 6s and teams make scores in excess of 160. That's what people come to see. If you want to see a good contest between bat and ball, go watch test cricket.

At least in the 160+ range.

Executioner Posted April 20, 2013 Posted April 20, 2013 Agree with OP. I want to see more boundaries being hit. High scoring encounters can be one-sided, same with low scoring encounters. But i will take a high scoring thriller over a low scoring one anyday

I have got no issues with him preparing a turning track at Eden but then don't turn a saint come the test matches.

This is not Tests where we want to see tests of patience, immense concentration and dedication, love for the nuances of the game and the sighs we breathe at the subtle sways of the game. This is not Cannes. This is the guilty pleasure, the glitz, the loud, the sensory overload. People come to trip on some good, high-stakes short-lived thrills. The pleasure of the roar of the crowd when the ball sails over the bright ropes. (In fact, IPL should use Neon-lighted fluoroscent ropes for boundaries. :woot:) No dude. We like high scorers because we love to take the battle to the edge. For the thrill of it. Or, rather, the blatant thrill. You know, a guilty pleasure? Yum, much? We want bowlers to show that particular skill needed to bowl a tight over amidst blitzing high-powered hitting. We want to see the leather flirt with danger, and tease the wood into an implosion - to take the game to the very edge of crossing the line and then saying feck you very much. Yea, we like batters when can get KLPDed like that. Especially, if they wear Baby Bambi Blues. :hehe: gaanrh me dhoti this is.
