They havn't been in great form but them getting dropped in favour of rohit vijay jadeja and kartik is very questionable. Also the pujara not getting picked despite his high list a average and good test form is also very bizzare. This is not a great selection. Yuvi, Gambhir both of them have regressed significantly. Yuvi since return from cancer treatment has 160 runs in 8 innings. Totally gone off the boil. Gambhi back to back average series. Also his batting has taken a significant dip at all levels. Both are justifiable moves. Vijay's selection is the only i question. Pujara is injured anyway.

Its pretty harsh to say yuvi and gambho is done after only 8 matches where all of our superstars stuggled apart from raina dhoni and sir jaddu who batter lower and faced the new ball less.
Silva Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 On second thought I can see the logic of having rohit as a top order batsman ahead of yuvi but I would still pick yuvi ahead of jadeja and irfan pathan as an all rounder. But I can see the logic of picking jadu and pathan even though I disagree with it. Yuvi would be alot more dangerous batting at number 8 than jaddu. And his bowling is very good too. He bowled extremely well in the last t20 world cup.

shortbread Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 Yuvraj is struggling and he doesnt seem to be in his best shape either, I doubt his stamina in the 50 over format. Gambhir is a sitting duck in English conditions and above all he is proving time and again he is an idiot with temperamental issues. At the moment his best role is to service srk's needs!!! Vijay is a very poor pick and instead we could have had a young right handed batsman touring with the side. I just hope Irfan finds the english conditions suitable.
