vvvslaxman Posted June 3, 2013 Posted June 3, 2013 India has no real bouncer specialists :( Umesh has to step up big time.. We should use him for 2 over spells where he should go all out.
deathmonger Posted June 3, 2013 Posted June 3, 2013 There is no Donald Dinda this time' date='so India will win[/quote'] True. He was the reason Pakis won in 1st odi and 1st t20. If pathan was swinging it alongside Bhuvi, they would have been screwed. Pathan would have easily got one/two bowled/lbws with his inswinger in his opening overs. Did that a lot in the SL odi series and world t20.
G_B_ Posted June 3, 2013 Posted June 3, 2013 winning the toss is IMO going to be key. The first hour usually does provide something for the bowlers. I do worry about the Indian side with pitches with seam and swing in them. Bhuvi's impact in England might very well be much less than what it was expected to be. Kookabura balls dont swing as much as the SG or Duke balls.

the don Posted June 3, 2013 Posted June 3, 2013 . Our players have a unique ability of firing on all cylinders when playing against pakistan... Lol ... thats exactly why Pakistan heads india in test and odi cricket:haha: , Pakistan has always punched above their weight when it comes to india even in the last decade or so when they had a comparitively inferior team , but without a doubt pakistan is a much stronger team than India currently . It would be an upset if india win against pak .
deathmonger Posted June 3, 2013 Posted June 3, 2013 That is going to be a big factor. True, both Irfan and Bhuvi are very mediocre without swing.
the don Posted June 3, 2013 Posted June 3, 2013 That is going to be a big factor. dont they use dukes in england ?

Pakistan no 6 crap team vs India no 1 team + World champions.
G_B_ Posted June 3, 2013 Posted June 3, 2013 That is going to be a big factor. I am happy selectors have included Umesh and Ishant. We may need to play both. Bad news for our spinners as well. I might just take a punt on Australia. Its funny how something as small as the ball can affect the game. Was talking to a friend who attended one of the warm ups and he says that even the english bowlers are struggling to get the ball the swing. Will be interesting to see if Anderson can swing it.
Junyfan Posted June 3, 2013 Posted June 3, 2013 Bowlers are inexperience, but that first over to Hashim amla was really good considering he normally move it away from right handers.
NareshK Posted June 3, 2013 Posted June 3, 2013 Lol ... thats exactly why Pakistan heads india in test and odi cricket:haha: ' date=' [b']Pakistan has always punched above their weight when it comes to india even in the last decade or so when they had a comparitively inferior team , but without a doubt pakistan is a much stronger team than India currently . It would be an upset if india win against pak . Really ? Then why do you get thrashed by India in World Cup games ? The scorecard reads 8-0. :hysterical: Your current batting is one of the worst in the world and you would struggle to chase 250. Heck, you are still playing with the likes of Imran Farhat, Shoaib Malik, Kamran Akmal for many years despite poor performances. Bowling is also untested and lacks experience. Might buckle under pressure.
vvvslaxman Posted June 3, 2013 Posted June 3, 2013 India failing will largely be due to our players form more than Pak skills. An inform team with yuvraj, Gambhir, Viru would blow this pak team away in a jiffy. Despite presence of Dhoni, Kohli, Raina this is largely an untested unit. Not sure how they will gel as a team. To make matter worse we are going to carry atleast one extra baggage . Either Rohit or Vijay.
cowboysfan Posted June 3, 2013 Posted June 3, 2013 We should be worried about the saffers, that is a do or die match imo.

maniac Posted June 3, 2013 Posted June 3, 2013 Wait am I missing something with the OP when he calls this pak team as having a powerful bowling attack?
