On a flattish pitch, 3rd seamer will always have more chances of getting hit then the new ball bowlers. One thing Ishant needs to avoid is to bowl short and give width. Needs to pitch it up like he was doing in the IPL and he will bowl better.

Its not about runs.Yadav looked like taking a wicket and got some important wickets.Sharma has lost it .Atleast he had regained pace after working with eric simmons ,But now he has lost everything His seam position is worse than Gully cricket bowlers.He is perfect example why people should be dropped at the right time.He keeps on playing and never gets a chance to correct basic flaws.

Not much going right ion h is bowling right now. Decisiveness is not there. He is lacking purpose is his bowling. His bouncer seems toothless even at 140K. It seems like he is bowling from 5 feet 5 rather than 6 feet 5 inches height. In attempt to get that elusive outswinger, he is losing his strengths. He is falling left side, his bowling hand is not coming upright rather than he is trying to get it round arm so that he can get outswing but problem is with his wrist which is still not good for outswinger.

Nah. Ishant is going at 8. He will go at 10. Cricket in last 5 years has changed a lot since the advent of T20.

Isuck Sharma is the biggest imposter in cricket. No brains No intelligence Limited ability Worst stats in limited over cricket Learnt NOTHING in all his years playing the game. He is only getting in the team due to favours or contacts. Based on merit should have been axed years ago.

There are other bowlers who have worst stats than him Yadav, PK, etc.

Sir Aggy was an underrated of overabused ODI bowler.would take him over Ishant anyday

You cannot compare the time when Aggy played and now. Last 5 years have changed the dimension of batting dramatically since T20 came.

Yes, he could bowl a yorker but he used to miss it a lot in fulltosses. He was one of the most expensive fast bowler at that time. Imagine what could have been his economy now when on flat tracks 8 RPO looks nothing. As I said that time was different, bowlers used to get reverse with the old ball.

yes, Both pitches were similar.Quality fast bowlers and quality batsmen can do well on these kind of pitches. Morkel-7-0-27-0.

Morkel bowled when conditions were helpful for him early morning and clouds. Those both pitches were completely different. Cardiff pitch was little slow with not much bounce and helping spinners. There was not much for pacers there. Oval was fast and bouncy, not much help for spinners.

Ajmal is not a big turner of the ball. He does not need much from pitch. He can do with accuracy and variation. I did not see any ball turning big like it was happening at Cardiff where even Dumini was turning it big. It was far different pitch than Cardff. Cardiff lacked that kind of zip and bounce. Indians wont survive on this pitch against Pak pacers.

As somebody mentioned in this thread, atleast Ishant has gained his pace. We had Umesh 142 plus Ishant 138-142 Bhuvi 134-138 If only Ishant had a brain. While he would not be world class. He would be good enough to get into the Indian team on merit and not by being lucky. I looked at the stats of our three bowlers on cricinfo and we must have the worst seam bowling attack stats wise among every team

Its quite stupid of him to take more wickets but not stop runs himself :haha: Its not like lambu is heaps more the number of wickets as PK. Nor does he produce more wicket taking deliveries in ODIs. The difference in wickets per 10 overs is marginal (0.39), which means Lambu gets 2 more wickets than PK for 5 games. The so called wicket taking is a bloody myth for this idiot. When conditions were helping bowlers in two of the home games against Pakistan, he did jack with the new ball. And he happens to be rubbish in tests, so he doesn't have much of a wicket taking ability for so many yrs. So where does his bag of wickets come from, the awesome death bowling skills ?
