I mean when you brought him in the squad give him a run...He did surprise everyone in tests...who knows might do well in ODI's....Needs an extended run...cant keep chopping and changing players after 1-2 games....have already seen careers pegged back when there was no specific role assigned for a specific player

If it was a bilateral series,I'd agreed with you,but every match is a virtual knockout so we cant afford slow starts by openers. also we need the 6th bowling option since Yuvraj isnt there

i would play Irfan Pathan ahead of tried and trusted failures Murli Vijay and Rohit Sharma. And would let Pathan open. What use is a specialist batsmen when they average single digits.

IK Pathan might do well here, he bats against pace well adn if conditions suit him will do well in bowling as well. But probably not as oepner, we should open with Murali and Dhawan. If Murali fails again get Rohit in.
