zumi Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 it very hard to believe this guy is still playing cricket, what is he selected to do bat? bowl? or even? i have never seen him contribute anything meangful for his team except when playing vs India. hope this jokers continues playing for Pakistan for many moons :two_thumbs_up:
the don Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 It is because of India , you guys have trolled us big time by letting him score billions of runs against your bowling .He is useless against every other side.
jalebi_bhai Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 He is India's most loved foreign damaad.....ambassadorial role.....:two_thumbs_up:
Junyfan Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 such a pathetic batsman, but but he averages 52 Vs India, has kept him in the side like many, pathetic
vvvslaxman Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 Yup picking players based on his performance against one side is crazy.
The Outsider Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 Because: Shwetabh, I am perhaps stating the obvious when I say that Pakistan's cricket has always been India-centric. The requirement was that they had to beat India. It didn't matter that much if they lost occasionally to others, but not to India. It followed therefore that those who did well against India had to be rewarded handsomely. This policy is one reason why Pakistan now find themselves in such a predicament. Every man and his dog has known for years that Kamran Akmal is not fit for purpose as a Test wicketkeeper. But how do you drop a man who has 4 tons against India, three of them, at Mohali, Kolkata and Karachi scored in desperate situations, saving the side from utter humiliation, and once leading to an implausible win from 39 for 6, a situation not unlike the one Australia found themselves here. That reluctance to drop heroes forged in matches against India (or wars, as Abbasi would put it) also extended Afridi's career way beyond the point when he had stopped being useful in Tests for Pakistan. His 142 in what must be one of Pakistan's favourite memories, that 12-run victory at Chennai, ensured immortality...and immunity against selectorial censure. Misbah ul Haq owes his place in the current side solely to his two hundreds against India, the one at Kolkata scored in a back to wall situation with Kamran Akmal, rescuing their side from 150 for 5, chasing 616. Why else would Misbah be in this side? It did not matter to Pakistani selectors that sometimes these "services rendered" were not in Test matches against India. If you could do it in any form the game, you were a hero. Thus Shoaib Malik's myriad hundreds versus the old enemy had to be rewarded with national captaincy...of the Test side. It mattered little that he was the wrong man in the wrong role and couldn't buy a run outside the subcontinent. All irrelevant. It's not that Indian selectors are not prone to such foibles. However, unlike their Pakistani counterparts, their approach is Australia-centred. Nothing else would explain Bhajji's uninterrupted stay in the Test side and near monopoly on the spinner's berth. But perhaps it is a lesser crime to judge your players (troops, Abbasi?) by their achievements against the best side in the world, as Laxman fans would testify. Pakistan's quagmire is therefore of their own making. Several players in those eleven routs by Oz were India specialists...but not fit for purpose against Australia. Will they learn? Certainly, going by the ranting of Abbasi, it would not appear so. He shares the same lack of insight that blights the selectors he is bagging here. http://indiancricketfans.com/showpost.php?p=914247&postcount=26
maniac Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 ^That post hit the spot for the exception of Misbah...On the contrary Misbah is hated despite being their best batsman and also a decent captain for his choke-Jobs against India
The Outsider Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 ^ you seem to be half in love with Dhondy Don't be so jealous. I like to spread the love around. Await your turn and you will be showered upon.
G_B_ Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 @Maniac well dont know about test cricket. But Pakistan have been pretty consistent in the ODIs and T20 tournaments since 2007 T20 world cup. Reaching the semis and finals on a regular basis. Test cricket to be fair he may have a point. I have not checked the stats. Pakistan to be fair did try out haider and the other Akmal brother who can keep well but his **** with the bat. He does have a point about Malik. But can see anybody else in the current pakistani team who does not merit selection. Or has been selected just cause he has done well only against India. Afridi has been dropped. Younis khan is gone. A lot of new faces.

T20s maybe but they have been piss poor in ODIs. Just reaching semi finals does not make a good team. They have not won a single one of them (ODI). Even NZ gets into semis and they are not a good team by any chance.

But the quality is there. If anything India are extremely hit and miss under Dhoni. Either we win the damn thing (2007, 2011) or we dont make the final stages (2009, 2009 (champions trophy), 2010, 2012) . There is no middle ground. I am pretty confident if we do reach the semis, something will happen. Luck, good play or something else and we will lift the cup. But getting to the semis is a huge hurdle with Dhoni. We knows how to seal the deal. Cant has issues in getting to that point for some reason.

Agree on one thing...No matter how we feel about Pak and SL they have been more consistent in such tournaments....Argument can be made that they have had easier draws at times but that should not take any credit away from their performances

They may have done well in the two tourneys but they have sucked in all other bilaterals etc.
singhprakash72 Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 This pathetic guy once came up with the speech of thanking Muslims all over the world for their support to Pakistan team in the T20 WC2007 final ?? Ullu ka patha doesn't have basic sense of addressing crowd. Tried bowling Doosra but was called for chucking then tried hand on Batting which he only succeeded marginally in Ind,Bng & SL patta pitches. Guess what Sania Mirza still ended up marrying such a Looser !!!
