Why is there no dharna outside his house? If say tomorrow a particular community is targeted or a a caste, there are so much repercussions. But anyone and everyone gets away with targeting women because women in this country refuse to stand up for themselves. Panchayats target women and the women in his own house don't speak up. Netas use women as vote banks and his own daughter remains quiet? How long will women, educated, working women, let such men dictate terms to them? How long before they actually get afraid before speaking against women? The essential woman in India is a mute, dumb animal, ready to let others dictate things to her in the name of safety, security and culture. Till that changes, women will continue to get abused and discriminated. There are women netas in every party, what do they do when someone from their own party targets women? Play vote bank politics?

Religious and cultural laws prohibit/discourage women to get educated/employed. Education leads to Empowerment which leads to Employment which leads to Independence which turns to demand for rights & civility.

Unfortunately the older women in such homes are even worse than men . These people are not really worried about other women or what they wear(wear,think ,do)...they are worried that the younger women in their family may want what other women have, the freedom to have and do.

The incident took place in Bannadevi area of Aligarh on Tuesday. Kamlesh Dubey's neighbour Phoolwati used to comment on her daughter for wearing jeans. This led to an altercation between Kamlesh and Phoolwati when the former objected to her neighbor passing the comments. Then matter escalated and Phoolwati's family member attacked Kamlesh's family. During the incident they opened fire on Kamlesh and hit her on the head with the pistol. Kamlesh later died as a result of the assault. Police have arrested some of the accused and are investigating the case. There is tension in the area following the incident.

India needs to fight a 5 year long World War III for our women to have the same level of consideration western women have. Ultimately, female emancipation in the west is a product of WWI. Not female netas and vote bank politics. For those who dont get my drift, what happened in the western world, is that men went by their millions to die in the battle of inches (otherwise known as trench warfare), literally leaving the women to run the country in the background. Women started working in machine shops, factories, the educated ones were given 'spot fillers' even in accounting and finance. The women workforce quintupled in the WWI period and the ladies did a fine job running what was considered 'traditionally men are the only capable ones to do this' jobs. And it becomes rather hard to convince women (and yourself) that women are less than men when you come home and find that your wifey has saved the business while you were busy chopping off gangrenous toes in the trenches of France.
