If I remember correctly, Imran himself had admitted of using bottle caps sometime back. This is not in doubt that how imran had got all those numbers in bowling during early 80's. Otherwide he was very inconsistent with bowling in his career. If you look at the hypocrisy that Imran peddled through out his life, its rather easy to believe what Sohail has said here.

As a general rule it makes sense but Imran made it a policy every time he lost 2/3 quick wickets... The scores would generally be 70 odd in 25 ovs, 140 odd in 40 ovs and roughly 220+ in 50 and thanks to Coca Cola and Pepsi he had the bowlers to defend it.... thats pretty much what his ODI strategy was... As for tests I think outside subcontinent he has won only 1 or 2 tests, thats hardly a record to be considered a GREAT captain.....

Dude I am really sick and tired of you guys attitude on this forum. Hounded and you guys? Most people here have been incessantly picking on every small thing about Sachin for a while now. No one can dare say one good thing on this forum about Sachin nowadays without you guys completely coming in and blasting those things to bit. Look, Imran is the wannabe Jayalalitha of Pakistan. She manufactured a mass scale cult following based on movie superstar status. Imran is doing it out of sports superstar status. he is putting in the foundations and dreaming bigger than Amma but that is basically what is happening. In third world countries, with huge illiterate population and no 24/7 media channels, its easy to farm your fame to political success. This would've worked on an India-scale up to Kargil but since kargil, our media has gone 24/7, which means political game is less cult-of-personna driven than party-agenda and party-politics/scam exposure driven, etc. And to be frank, nobody in India, barring Sachin has ever had the kind of cult-of-personna status on a national cross-regional level that Imran enjoys in Pakiland. But Sachin is still playing and probably too introverted to be a politician.

Alot of Khan's voters are diehard Pakistani cricket fans. And Beckham isn't stupid, far from, he acts stupid alot of the times because it suits his agenda. No stupid person can mass the fortune he has and be so loved around the world.
