In the champions trophy Rohit scored at a fair clip, but in the Windies and now this match he has been extremely slow. Just feel that Dhawan will benefit from an opening partner who can at the very least rotate the strike. On this tour he may not find such a partner cause Rahane is in the same mould as Rohit. Thats not the say Dhawan has played well. He needs to tighten his technique up.

What impact can Sharma's low SR have?

I agree its a fundamentally technical problem. I feel his stance and shots are too lose in general and he cant control himself at times. But what you want ideally is for the partner at the other end to rotate the strike and ensure that you dont have much pressure on you. There were times in this innings that Rohit hogged the strike which resulting in shikar being at the non strikers end for a relatively long period. Lets hope the Champions Trophy was not a purple patch and that shikar can iron out the issues.

He just needs to stay at the wicket and wait for the bad balls and put them away. He can play shots all around the park, so he can take it easy at the start when there might be something for the bowlers and make up for it later.

But, in general, if his technique is susceptible, then he may struggle. Sehwag, who had a similar game as Dhawan, had exceptional hand-eye coordination. Infact, when he started off, he had a pretty solid game.

But, today atleast he had a clear case of standing there and getting some runs. There was no hurry whatsoever.

Everyone's favorite Rohit Sharma has probably the best technique and look at what he does... JACKSH!T..... Some armchair ICFs feel as if they are the master of the game and make judgement on how to play and criticizing match winning players like Dhawan.. If technique and text book batting was that important, England would have won all the trophies by now in the history of Cricket... Dhawan is the BOMB .. He fills up for both Sehwag and Gambhir...
