Agarkar has a sub 30 odi average and 200+ wickets if i rem right.. he is one of our best ever odi bowler.

Looks like Bhuvi has gone the way of most of our pacers........ His average is now nearly 38 with the ball. Econ under 5 is acceptable. Reminds me of PK who started brightly and then withered away.

I think Bhuvan will be our trump card in England...the fact he is quicker than P.K might be an added bonus

The problem: He like all other pacers are told to do EVERYTHING. There are no proper roles. Bhuvi bowled inswingers and could bowl some outswing but inswing is his strength. His pace has increased which is great but even if he is 135+ and swinging it consistently I will take that. The AUS series destroyed him, it was poor of BCCI to even organise it the way it was. Bhuvi has been dropped and has worked hard but now seems to have lost what brought him to the dance. He is a wicket taker and can keep run rate down but that doesnt mean he should be defensive. Typical indian pitches and captaincy have changed him, he actually does better when we need wickets. Is a smart bowler and will bounce back but needs to enjoy captain's confidence.

I thought injury happened to Praveen kumar and he was never picked in ODIs after that.

Bhuvi has potential he is young and eager, needs to bowl around 135 and swing both ways, with some tweaking to his action he can even bowl around 135 -140 instead of 129 to 134 range he bowls nowadays, that can make him more effective at any stage.

When your own captain comes out in the media and berates you for not being a 'death-bowler' and not able to save runs while you are taking wickets, what is a young bowler to do? Cue him changing his length to shorter, only looking to save runs and becoming completely unable to take a single wicket. His death bowling has grown leaps and bounds at the cost of his wicket taking ability. Absolutely no plans in place to show any direction to young bowlers

PK was always able to get early breakthrough and that is why we were able to win couple of series and key wins against pakistan and srilanka and in general dominate in India and compete outside.He was the go to bowler for Dhoni, when he was there. He was clearly a case of bowler mismanagement, though his longstanding injuries and poor recovery did not help.He started bowling off late in domestic few days back.

Has totally lost his wicket talking ability with the new ball, lost his consistency which was his biggest strength. Bowls decently at the death but averaging 70+ in your last 18 ODIs is just not good enough. Can blame the captain, the system, the coaches but end of the day the individual has to he take some blame as well. Someone with 5-6 years of FC experience would know what his strengths are and should stick to that irrespective of the advise from the coaches around him.

Law of averages - If you try enough Kumars... one of them eventually isn't gonna suck. Maybe you should try that with Sharma's also :giggle:

Unfortunately for India, that Kumar is a wicket keeper bat for their neighbors.

:haha: PK averages 60 plus in India. His overall average is worse than even Ishant at 36 and with 77 wickets in 68 matches do not suggest that he was a wicket taker. Yes, he started well in Australia, but that was it. He could never really make that impact again.

I reckon under a new captain and management that allowed him to do his thing, he would bounce back. But this is india...
