G_B_ Posted July 30, 2013 Posted July 30, 2013 Vijay Zol seems to be scoring runs by the bucket loads........
Lord Posted July 30, 2013 Posted July 30, 2013 Vijay Zol seems to be scoring runs by the bucket loads........ its obvious hes too good for this level now.He should play FC and go on A tours now.As Chappell said 'if you keep a player below the level he deserves, his game stagnates'

carnish Posted July 30, 2013 Posted July 30, 2013 Great Knock from the Young prodigy but sadly, we all are forgotteing that he has a role at this level and that is to get the U19 WC for India and he has to continue at this level till next year. He can also play Ranji games during the free time he gets though.
Cricashfaq Posted July 30, 2013 Posted July 30, 2013 Vijay Zol can be like Kohli if he enters the national team!!
vvvslaxman Posted July 30, 2013 Posted July 30, 2013 I won't even argue if they throw him in the deepend.
GolGappe Posted July 30, 2013 Posted July 30, 2013 As Chappell said 'if you keep a player below the level he deserves, his game stagnates' Well said. It's obvious he is far above his counter-parts at this level. Indians have gone slightly conservative when it comes to younger player. Selectors used to throw them in the deep-end. Remember Irfan Pathan's test debut in Sydney or Balaji in Pakistan or Yuvraj-Zaheer in champions trophy. Should have given someone like Chand bit of a go now. The guy won a world cup in Australia so he must have some talent.
rahulrulezz Posted July 30, 2013 Posted July 30, 2013 Players like these should be fas-tracked into the Indian team.. This whole development plan and doing the wait time is all farce.. Most of the legends of the game came in early and made a name for themselves. Tendulkar - Wasim Waqar Lara
G_B_ Posted July 30, 2013 Posted July 30, 2013 its a tough one. Zol is a more measured but technically sound player than Chand who is more flashy. I also feel he is somebody who can bat at 6. So will be more protected than Chand who opens. Even though i do believe people should not be given a go untill they play X number of games in domestics. I am tempted with Zol. RCB should give him a slot.
fineleg Posted July 30, 2013 Posted July 30, 2013 samson 70 not bad. They should ensure his wicketkeeping skills get good coaching/attn too.
Old guy Posted July 30, 2013 Posted July 30, 2013 seen zol bat imo he will be very good at test level in 2-3 years time chand should debut in odis first zol should play atleast one first class season and some a tours before indian team to atleast get some hang of higher level.. just because he is too good for htis level does not means he will become another kohli

Apart from SRT, I dont see anyone without much FC experience succeeded in test cricket. Zaheer was not thrown raw. He had played quite a lot of FC cricket and had taken lot of wickets. Even Irfan had played a lot of FC cricket by the time he made his test debut as he started FC at the age of 17 but Irfan was not as successful in FC cricket when he made his debut.
