Could not care less we lost today. As winning and losing is not important here. Its about one or two players doing really well, improving or showing their class and abilty to do really well for Indian Team. Anyone catching the eye of the selctors? Anyone doing the opposite and playing themselves out of an opprtunity?

Among the younger lot, Rayudu in batting and Rasool in bowling IMO. Rohit, if he shows the same form in FC matches will improve his chances of a test debut vs SA. DK, Shami and Sid Kaul have been very disappointing.

Not sure why Binny is being ridiculed on here. His bowling can be handy in conditions that are conducive to swing bowling whilst from what I saw in the IPL his batting is promising. He plays proper cricket shots and can hit the ball a reasonable distance. He is far ahead of players with similar attributes such as Nayar I feel.

thing about Binny is that he is not quite a batsman and not quite a bowler. I can see Binny being part of the Indian T20 outfit batting at 7 (if Sir picks and injury) and being capable of hitting a quick 20 along with bowling 2 odd overs. But longer the format and less likely for Binny to make an impact. As mentioned by people in threads earlier, (i think it was lord and sane) Rishi Dhawan appears to be a frontline bowler who is a good bat down the order. I can see Rishi say averaging less than 35 with the ball and averaging more than 25 with the bat in the ODIs. You look at Rajasthan Royals and Binny, I think with the ball Dravid always tried to see how batsman reacted to Binny before giving him extra overs. At RR they always had 6-7 bowling options. Therefore they did not bank on Binny to finish a quota of 4 overs like the way they banked on Watson towards the end of the IPL to always complete his quota of 4 overs. With Binny it was a case of either a frontline RR bowler like Trivedi being smashed with Binny having to finish his quota or introducing Binny outside the powerplays in the middle and see how things went from there (if he did well he got more overs).

^Yes the selection is very poor. Best performers have been Dhawan, Rayudu, Raina and Rohit- nothing we dont already know there. Its been good experience for the bowlers, though you feel sorry for them ...

Can't really judge anyone on these type of wickets. Although scoring 248 on any kind of wicket it pretty good but dhawan place in the squad was never in question. This tour has been a waste of time so far.
