Shikhar Dhawan has raised the bar for all of us, says Gautam Gambhir

First and foremost......do people know the true definition of a 'choke'? 'Choking' and 'succumbing to pressure' are often mutually inclusive.....but they are NOT the same thing........ In order to choke......you need to be in a winning situation..... India getting all out for 54 against Lanka in 2000 was not a choke.......the innings never took off to begin with..... England losing the CT 2013 from 110-4 was a choke......they should've won.....but didn't ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Now, regarding the thread's topic.....Gambhir could still make a comeback, at least in the ODI team......we still don't have a proper number 4 in ODIs.....Karthik is a TTF......Rayudu still has a lot to prove......A rejuvenated Gambhir or Yuvraj will most certainly be welcome in our WC 2015 squad......

Serious question? Does anyone really think Sehwag can succeed in England or SA with his technical deficiencies when he is 36 , the same places where he got owned in the past tours even he was close to his best
absolutely not!!

The good thing is Shikhar can still improve and develop his leg side game a bit, off side he is g8, leg side he plays the horizontal bat strokes, he can work on the hook and the flick of the wrist as he is a bit weak in terms of scoring of his leg on the leg side comparatively.

Hope Shikar doesn't turn out to be just a form player but a class player. Gambhir's technique hasn't changed since i saw him first except one area. He used to shuffle across and get out leg before or get a leading edge. He managed to get rid of it. Rest of the things like flashing outside the off stump has been with him since he started playing for India. When he was scoring lot of runs he managed to keep check on that. Now it is back again. He is misjudging line, movement, length everything. Totally messed up. If he gets his mind right he could stage a comeback.

I would like to see Gambhir tried at no.4 for odis if Yuvi can't make it. His record in Aus is outstanding hope he sorted out his attitude though
Gambhir was found out during the world T20 in England(2009),and his first CB series was in 2008. Last time in Australia, he only scored at Adelaide oval(subcontinental type pitch).I dont think he can perform on bouncy australian pitches.

I rate Gauti's innings higher than Dhoni's in the WC Final. I don't like to compare either though. I would love Gauti back in the ODI and Test teams. I also dream of Sehwag in the Test team, but we'll see.

LOL. South Africa produces more sporting wicket than England and Gambhir proved our best bat during last south africa tour along with Tendulkar. When surprisingly we drew the series there. And that too he just played 2 tests after 4 test and still ended up as our 2nd highest scorer on the tour below Tendulkar.

Pitches were more bowler friendly in West Indies(2011) Raina-46.40 Kohli-15.20 No one will say Raina is better player than Kohli on bouncy pitches, these things happen in cricket.

So what are you trying to say? By few games failures you want to say Gambhir can't bat overseas? And after continuous failures of some of the youngsters during crucial moments, you want those players to replace Gambhir who have been 20 over cricket wonder boyds. Gambhir is a proven performer. Yes, he had his slump and was dropped from the team, but it's time to bring the dud eback because we are going overseas and his experience will matter there.
