I personally believe men were not capable of facial hair in that Yuga, There was no need to shave, trim or keeping beard. It looks so unnatural to see designer mustache on Mahabharata/Ramayana character.

The sets are good. The CG is good in places, very poor in some other places. But the casting is very poor. Performances are substandard and in places, they have poor dialog. They have managed to give it a grand look, but certain other aspects really need to catch up.

Or maybe its just that I have watched BR Chopra's version so all other versions just pale in comparison. In this version the casting is bad, the dialogue sound too modern and the overall look and feel of the show seems too modern to be seen as an "epic".

Their real challenge will be in showing an authentic looking war, in which both the firsts of Ramayan and Mahabharat sucked. I hope this new show does not follow the same path.
