putrevus Posted October 1, 2013 Posted October 1, 2013 Outswing bowlers generally are not ideal for odis/t20s, in quest of bowling inswingers they lose their wrist position for outswingers and become less effective in tests like Kapil Dev. Even Dale Steyn is not that successful with white ball as he is with red ball. Yadav needs to play more first class cricket and get ready for tests, I would have liked him to play more with India A team than this challenger series.
Sidhoni Posted October 1, 2013 Posted October 1, 2013 Whats with this obsession with pace? Yadav was getting absolutely smashed in the Challenger Trophy against domestic batsmen.
King Tendulkar Posted October 1, 2013 Author Posted October 1, 2013 Frankly Yadav playing in a few odis will get him match fit and ready. Good preperation for a test series to sharpen him up. Back him and tell to bowl with effort. Will help groove him for test and bowling with wheels.
King Tendulkar Posted October 1, 2013 Author Posted October 1, 2013 He has to work on his one day bowling. His List A stats suck too. That's a good indication. You cant just pick him just because he is phaassht. Dont behave like Pakis who have orgasms over speedometer readings despite getting whacked for plenty of runs in important games. He is good pace bowler. Some thing we dont have. How about giving him a run, backing him. This will help him improve and allow to work on his bowling Want him part of set up and in squad with the big boys. Sending him out to domestic cricket will make him go backwards. You lot would have axed anderson when he used to get smacked!!!
King Tendulkar Posted October 1, 2013 Author Posted October 1, 2013 Also ever heard of variation in an attack. We know have trundlers galore. They will get lined up. Need pace option.
King Tendulkar Posted October 1, 2013 Author Posted October 1, 2013 If you guys dont think we will need a 90mph bowler for world cup in aus then you lote are nuts. If the answer is yes. Then Yadav needs to play now. So learns and develops. If leading up to world cup still getting smoked then fair enough drop him. Till then must play so he hopefully develops and gets it going. Like when he destroyed aussies in warm up game in england
msb1991 Posted October 1, 2013 Posted October 1, 2013 Whatever he was told by coaches aside, Yadav was reportedly bowling 135kph in Challenger Trophy. That is not quick enough to distinguish him from the majority who bowl at 130kph. The pace ceases to become an issue if he is bowling at 135kph. If he has slowed down for performance then performance is all we can pick him on. Coaching and selection are two different processes, if the coaches have told him to slow down then the selectors cannot realistically account for that. They can only go off what he bowled in his last games.
putrevus Posted October 1, 2013 Posted October 1, 2013 You need bowlers with pace that too who can bowl outswing, they are like diamonds so hard to find. Yadav is one of those bowlers, he is still very early in career, the concern of OP is legitimate but Yadav needs captain who encourages fast bowlers and does not mind them going for runs. Dhoni is so woeful captain for fast bowlers other than Zak he never had any trust in any fast bowler, the moment they give up runs he goes defensive. India does not need multiple captains for different formats but they need multiple captains one for playing at home for which Dhoni is fine and we need another captain when playing overseas. Let us see wtf are selectors up to if they think trundler legend is good in long run than Yadav.

An india fast bowler who all have seen bowling 90mph regulary for India, and is been ever present in team ,comes back after a long break to play in a couple of meanigless domestic games and bowls a little below his normal speed. What is the suprise there?? Thats exctly what I would expect and want him to do. He is not going to fly in at full pelt for domestic game and save his real wheels for India. But thats what a fast bowler who is regular international should do. Not bend his back in domestic stuff but use them as preperation for full pelt bowling for country. Little did he know is plonkers would look at those speeds and say, O he is not qiuck anymore, drop him. If he had known he would be judged like this and get axed, am sure you would have seen thunder bolts come down. We really have no idea in India how to manage a fast bowler. Also please remeber he is ONLY god dammn fast bowler we have, so he is axed. After a couple of meanigless domestic games we decide to axe him cos bowling mids 80s and not his usual for India 90 mph bowling. He knows how to mange his body, shame others dont including selectors

Also in particular what is best is long run is being woefully over looked by so called experts. Message load and clear to Yadav. Dont bowl fast and try and take wickets. If goes wrong in a game or two you are out. Guess what, we make our only pacer a trundler!!
asterix Posted October 1, 2013 Posted October 1, 2013 Dhobi doesn't wants to keep against fast bowlers hence he got Yaddu out of the team... :agree:
King Tendulkar Posted October 1, 2013 Author Posted October 1, 2013 Dhobi doesn't wants to keep against fast bowlers hence he got Yaddu out of the team... :agree: Probably worried about his hands and the pain. As does not give when taking the ball like a good keeper, so real pace will hurt him:--D
SLICKR392 Posted October 1, 2013 Posted October 1, 2013 May be he is rested ahead of the WI test series. :dontknow:
JaFanatic Posted October 1, 2013 Posted October 1, 2013 He injured atleast 4 batsmen this year, not gonna see any Aussie batsmen getting injured in this series
rkt.india Posted October 1, 2013 Posted October 1, 2013 Whatever he was told by coaches aside' date=' Yadav was reportedly bowling 135kph in Challenger Trophy. [/quote'] He was touching 140 easily. Only 3 fast bowlers apparently clocked 135 plus Suyal, Yadav and Warrier. LIkes of BK and VK did not even cross 128K, mainly in 123-125K range. Rajpoot who was clocked 135K last year in Ranji was not clocked faster than 128K. Awana was struggling to clock 129, mainly around 125-126K, even after all his grunting. I doubt speed guns were showing the correct speeds.

I think the message is- get into rhythm whilst bowling long spells for Duleep side and hence have better prep for WI series than the ltd overs matches would provide. In a way the converse of what youre saying might be accuarate too- focus on the long format where you dont have to worry as much about line and length and control.
Lord Posted October 1, 2013 Posted October 1, 2013 hes still our key bowler in Tests.dunno whats the fuss about dropping him for a meanigless ODI series

Sooda Posted October 1, 2013 Posted October 1, 2013 By way of comparision Steyn has played 70=odd ODIs in 8 years since his ODI debut. That is the way forward for out and out pacemen to ensure longevity.
