To be fair to Sharma, I think the reason for that is that he has tried to fit in the new role as opener and also to save his wicket from getting out cheaply. He has been criticized for not scoring beyond 20s and 30s, and it's something he has done better this year by trying to bat little slower. I think if that has worked for him, it's good. Hopefully it will make him into a confident batsman in future and he can score at a little faster rate when required.

he was one of the main reason why we won recent champions trophy....He seen thru the new ball on diffcult pitches and gave India a very good platform. He is as important as Dhawan in the team......With so many stroke makers in the team.....i wouldn't mind having him.....And most of our stokemakers (or may be all of them) doesn't have the stomach to handle seaming ball.

Most of the "Rohit the 'tailunted' batsman" fans are those wannabees cricket fans who think they know all about Cricket and glorify Rohit's high elbow, weight transfer to front foot and head over the ball .. Rohit is pure $h!t n should be kicked out of the team...

I think Rohit is a fine T20 batsman and can be a very good Test batsman averaging around 45. However, he struggles in ODIs and needs to be ditched soon. Being poor at ODI cricket happens sometimes to even very good batsmen like VVS Laxman, Steve Waugh.

Rohit has blocked people like Tiwary and Rahane out for a long time. I don't remember any Indian batsman in recent years who played 100 games to average so low. Since he started opening, he has decided to improve his average by batting extremely slow. A SR in 60's is extremely poor. He is lucky that Dhawan has been in the form of his life and India has some quick run scorers in the middle order. Rahane needs to get 20-30 games in the team and Rohit needs to go. Let us see what he does in those 20-30 games.
