Austin 3:!6 Posted October 19, 2013 Posted October 19, 2013 He is still the best damn fast bowler we have. So selectors stop giving these age & fitness excuse and bring him back
Temujin Khaghan Posted October 19, 2013 Posted October 19, 2013 Zaheer Khan will come to WC 15 on a wheelchair we need youngsters... need to give chances to mohit, umesh, shami etc...
GautiMaan Posted October 19, 2013 Posted October 19, 2013 Gawd this is depressing.Thankfully the next game is only 3 days away hopefully we will get rid of this trash and bring Mohit and one of Zak or Yadav
SLICKR392 Posted October 19, 2013 Posted October 19, 2013 Bring back Yadav. A massive Zak fan but he should retire from LOIs.
I6MTW Posted October 19, 2013 Posted October 19, 2013 Sure, while you're at it, why not bring back srinath as well? Maybe Kapil Dev as well.
Austin 3:!6 Posted October 19, 2013 Author Posted October 19, 2013 NO Why no? Is it just because he is old? Do you believe he will bowl any worse that Ishant, Vinni and other trundlers. When you drop an exp batsman, it understandable as we have enough replacement. But in bowling we suck. So we need to go back on tried and tested guys.
Austin 3:!6 Posted October 19, 2013 Author Posted October 19, 2013 Zak, Bhuvi and Yadav should be our bowling line up. Back up bowler Mohit.
Pagalpanti Posted October 19, 2013 Posted October 19, 2013 Zak should be preserved for tests, we have 4 away tours coming up.. SA, NZ, Eng and Aus. And without an "ACTUAL" spearhead we'll be white-washed 13-0 in those tours. As far as ODI's are concerned, we should try likes of Unadkat, Mohit and Yadav should be given a consistent run along with Bhuvy.
surajmal Posted October 19, 2013 Posted October 19, 2013 If the selectors were hesitant before, now they wont be with this selection (atleast when it comes to test matches).
adi B Posted October 19, 2013 Posted October 19, 2013 mohit, bhuvi, yadav, shami, mishra should be the picks
GautiMaan Posted October 19, 2013 Posted October 19, 2013 mohit' date='bhuvi, yadav, shami, mishra should be the picks[/quote'] unadkat should also be there, will atleast add some variety
rkt.india Posted October 20, 2013 Posted October 20, 2013 Mohit and Unadkat will be thrashed as much Vinay and Ishant because of similar pace. Need one-two quick bowlers to support BK.
NareshK Posted October 20, 2013 Posted October 20, 2013 Mohit and Unadkat will be thrashed as much Vinay and Ishant because of similar pace. Need one-two quick bowlers to support BK. McKay, Faulkner, Watson don't have lot of pace either. But they bowl a good line and length and have good variations. This is what you need in ODIs. Often if you have pace and don't have good control, you will go for plenty because ball comes on to bat nicely. Lack of pace doesn't mean a bowler can't do a good job in ODIs. Also on flat tracks in ODIs with small, lush outfields and with the big bats, any bowler will go for runs and you can't expect them to do well all the time. You can't be too harsh on them especially in Indian conditions. Most seamers who play here will go for runs.

It is not about just pace but skills, but if you do not have real skills like Mckay and Watson have then you need to be quick like MJ. They know which bowler they want to bowl at death. Mckay rarely bowls at death and even than Mckay is very good with his skills of slower balls. Faulkner has good yorkers and slower balls though yesterday he ran into Dhoni. Mckay also gets good bounce because of height and can move the ball off the seam. Our bowlers were thrashed by Faulkner which is a concern.
MCcricket Posted October 20, 2013 Posted October 20, 2013 Mj works as a enforcer and because of his spell , McKay and Faulkner benefit, India has one decent m/ f and two poor bowlers and none have taken wickets early or enough, Zaheer should not be back in ODI atleast at home, let Suyal, Pankaj, Shami , Kulkarni in, I guarantee they will do better

These are experienced bowlers who have learned to bowl variations and bowl well in international cricket against quality batsmen over a period of time (and still they are getting whacked in these ODIs). Expecting Mohit or Unadkat to bowl as well as them right away is ridiculous and shows you have no idea what you're talking about.

I am not expecting Mohit and Unadkat to bowl as well as them and that is why asking people to have low expectations because people here are taking their names frequently like they will start winning us matches. Same people will vouch for their heads to once they got hit fin match. I am also talking about sameness in the attack that is why we need at least one genuine pacer. There is Yadav who could go for runs but can get you a wicket at an important time like he did when he bounced Ab DeVilliars out in the first CT match which turned the game on its head.
