hows he doing in FC?He can't come back just because Ashwin is failing
That is true. But if Dhoni wishes he can come back any time. No cricketer is indispensable. if Ashwin doesn't improve India will have no choice but to explore all avenues.

I hope we give chance to a couple of youngsters rather than go back to dartbajan!!! Someone who can field and is capable/sensible with the bat. It bodes well for India long term. We are biting the fools bait if we celebrate Dart's FC wickets. I mean Ashwin has amazing figures playing in home conditions but it means absolutely nothing when we tour outside the subcontinent!!

Is this some kind of sick joke? Bringing back this coward would be the most backwards step ever. He is finished and should have been axed years before he eventually was. Still cannot forgive the way he ran way from the eng 2011 tour citing "injury" claiming he was unable to bowl yet in the same game was throwing the bat around like it was an IPL game. A cancer in the dressing room as well. Good riddance and hope it stays that way.

Nope we don't need Harbajan back in the team. If at all we need a new spinner we might as well go with a youngster like Rasool. We don't need to go the Pakistan way in bringing back old players when youngsters fail to perform. We need to think about the future and hope that one of the new spinners will do a better job for us in the long run.

rather try ojha if you want spinner so badly might work against righthanders and saffers who love off spinners now a days
Yea.. Ojha has better drift and turn than Ashwin. Lack of drift will be a big issue abroad. Ashwin is flighting way too much. He is already over 6 ft. With high arm action it takes forever to come down. His arm is too straight to get any drift. Also he relies solely on his fingers . Even slight lack of assistance he goes from one end to other. His variation is that subtle. From dangerous to totally harmless.

Sir is best :beee:
Either one should be preferred above Ashwin. No disrespect. They have seen enough of Ashwin in the first test. Wouldn't break their heads to face him in the next match.

I think Ashwin's batting luxury is too hard to ignore. He wasnt needed in JoBurg doesnt mean he cant be needed here. I think they'll go with Ashwin for now hoping he gets more purchase from Durban track

this is problem with you people its not odi unless ashwin does his main role well he is useless even if he scores 50 cos we will still not win match in tests you have to do your main role first and than add some value over it.. you cannot just say i batted well so bowling bad does not matters cos it does..

India needs to play 3 pacemen and one spinner in Durban. I think that playing Ojha is not possible as India needs at least one bowler to bat decently. Jadeja is the only possible replacement at this point. Considering Dhawan and Rohit did not score any runs and Dhoni isn't reliable overseas means that Kohli and Pujara will be under lots of pressure if we play 5 bowlers or even Yadav as the 4th bowler. Rahane needs to be there and so does Jadeja. Unfortunately Yadav will miss out again, unless Dhoni has the confidence in his batting and Jadeja's batting to leave Rahane out for Yadav.
