Detonator Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 dont get personal both of u :wall: it is just a discussion :icflove: he trolled "mumbaikar rohit" thing, I just turned his own words against him. cant handle heat. @laloo : I was just kidding, no hard feelings. calm down. :icflove:
Old guy Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 you can't have Rohit and Rahane in the middle order since 3 is Pujara' date=' 4 is Kohli, and 5 would be one of these two. Rahane has to open. That's why I am advocating to give Rahane a shot and not Vijay. We already have an idea of what we have from Vijay. We yet don't know what Rahane and Rohit can do in Test Cricket. If we go by FC, then both these two average well over 60.[/quote'] rahane will bat at 6 and dhoni at 7 8 will be spinner 9,10,11 will be bowlers like always .
Laaloo Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 rahane will bat at 6 and dhoni at 7 8 will be spinner 9,10,11 will be bowlers like always . didn't we play like 5 bowlers last match? and didnt dhoni bat at 6? :cantstop:
Old guy Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 didn't we play like 5 bowlers last match? and didnt dhoni bat at 6? :cantstop: vo inda tha //dhoni does not have balls to play at 6 in south africa ;P
Trundler27 Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 Unbelievable off-topic discussion this!! What are the mods doing??? Where in the world did mooli and nohit come into a thread that is titled 'Selectors to Zaheer Khan: Play more matches to prove fitness' Coming back on topic, I can't believe that the selectors are going to go with lambu instead of giving Zak a place in the squad where even if he doesn't play, he can at the least mentor the younger bowlers like bhuvi and shami and be a solid presence in the dressing room (imo he should be in the XI as he has played a decent amount of games over the past month or so).

Old guy Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 ^^cabby is the culprit as usual :vroam: you are officially my enemy on icf now .B->

Lord Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 vo inda tha //dhoni does not have balls to play at 6 in south africa ;P maybe he will, specially if Sir gets runs v WI. I dont have much hope from no.6 specialist batsman anyway.whether its Rahane,Rohit or someone else.
G_B_ Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 I think Sir will get good runs on pitches which are slow and low. IE the sort of pitches on Saurashtra. Where he will struggle badly is on pitches with some seam and bounce. Sir is comfortable facing trundlers and spinners. Its the out and out express pace bowlers he struggles with.

SLICKR392 Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 Rohit will either succeed in tests or he ll be given repeated chances until he succeeds. If vijay fails in a single series from now' date=' he will be dropped since they wanted Rohit to be a opener due to high competition for middle order.[/quote'] Good. Because Vijay sucks. :proud:
rkt.india Posted October 30, 2013 Author Posted October 30, 2013 wat have I done?? :omg: I also want Rahane in the team, but not as opener. Rohit can also be selected based on FC. If Vijay fails, then we can have them as openers, if we dont have any other option. I really hate rohit and an insane number of chances he got in odi, as if the mumbai lobby badly want him to succed. I want him to debut in tests, and his recent performance would secure him a place in odis. Rohit averaged 38 in 2010, 55 in 2011, and 50 in 2013 in ODIs, had a horror 2012, but look at those 3 years record, his average stands an impressive 47, bar a horror 2012.
rkt.india Posted October 30, 2013 Author Posted October 30, 2013 BTW until last year even dhawan was a hack...and he was bad pick according to everyone when he was picked against australia ? yaad hai kisi ko ? ) Even Dhawan has to prove in test cricket.
Old guy Posted October 30, 2013 Posted October 30, 2013 Even Dhawan has to prove in test cricket. Exactly we don't have 1 proved opener and we are talking about dropping some one who is performing Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk
India-KXIP fan Posted October 30, 2013 Posted October 30, 2013 Vijay has played 4 overseas tests, an ODI series in SA and 7 or 8 T20's all away from home Im pretty sure and is yet to cross 50 in any of these. In the A tour FC game he struggled against pacers got out to them in the 40's. How did he get 40? He targetted the spinner with poor domestic record scoring quick boundries off him. Will he get that spinner in SA? No. Not for 50 overs anyway. The next game his scores were 4 and a duck, great player for home series, horrible player for away. He had a solid average at home before Aus series, but he didn't prove anyone wrong in SA A tour either. Even Dhawan has to prove in test cricket. Other leftie Vijay Zol coming if he fails. :agree:
