I think credit has to go to Duncan Fletcher or whoever it was that pushed for him to open in ODIs. I think that opportunity gave him a chance to make some big scores against international attacks. As for whether or not he can perform overseas, remember that the verdict is still out on Shikhar Dhawan, Murali Vijay, Cheteshwar Pujara and Virat Kohli as far as overseas test performances go, so it's not as if Rohit is alone in that boat. All you can do is make a judgement call based on the technique they demonstrate. I'm just happy the selectors didnt revert to Raina or Yuvraj for the 100th time. When Sachin steps down, I assume Kohli moves to No.4 and Rohit moves to No.5 and then probably Rahane will come in at No.6, which would mean between our top 6, I think they've only played 2 tests in South Africa.

Yes,I was just thinking about you,Good to be proven right.fletcher also helped him reduce his bat lift ,which has made him solid .If u watch closely he employs it against fast bowlers like best where he reduces his bat lift and plays touch cricket.
