This was always going to happen. We always knew that whatever success Indian team get in Indian condition would have little bearing on what we going to do outside subcontinent. But Dhoni and management preferred to have short-sighted approach to suit their needs to have their 4 days of glory.

the problem is he is not correcting some of his mistakes and he does not do it quickly enough. today he shud have known about the bounce at wanderers and shud have opted for the fastest bowlers we have. there has been one spinner too many for SA. he has been letdown as well. by yuvraj who shud be shouldering half of the responsibility.by idiots rp singh and sreesanth plus slow learning ishant who put us in the position we are today.

India have the habit of bouncing back, I am sure India will. Playing 3 ODIs will give rough idea of the pitch and bouce, which is good for the upcoming test matches. Even Pakistan were whitewashed in march and lost 6 matches in a row in UAE, eventually they bounced back and won the ODI series.

We should remember that our young team had no time to acclamatize to totally different SAF conditions. There was no practice match which is very unfair on us. This wad their bounciest and perhaps fastest pitch. We should perform better in the coming matches provided we pick Umesh along with Shami. Yuvi should sit out too. Our team is a fighting lot and things should improve.

Cant expect too much out of this ODI series any way. Contrary to usual practice, they chose to put the ODIs in front the tests in the tour, just so that the team can get some semblance of practice of pace/bounce before the tests. The ODIs were clearly sacrificed in lieu of the tests.

On this track, we badly missed a tall , bouncy pacer. As much as I am against Ishant Sharma, with his current release problem etc. , ... this pitch was taylor-made for him.

I often come across this weird logic – We will play this player on these conditions, but swap him out for somebody else in another condition. I cannot think of a more counter-productive strategy. Think how would you feel if you were Yuvraj/Raina if Fletcher came to you and said ‘You are going to be our no.4 in Asia, but in Aus/SAF, Pujara is going to take your place..’ Yuvraj and Raina either play in our ODI team in all conditions or they don’t play at all. And these 2, especially Yuvraj, has proven over the years they can deliver everywhere. One game does not change that.

How on earth you allow opposition to score 350+ on this pitch? You know your bowling is in serious trouble when you allow opposition to score 350+ on this track. There was steep bounce, constant seam movement. With India using this fresh pitch in the afternoon, this should have been a 250 run match max. No words to describe this trundler brigade who don't even know to bowl on the best of surfaces. Add to that an overweight & over hyped Ashwin. I am not sad because we lost the match. I am not sad our batsman failed to chase 350+ one more time. BUT I am absolutely gutted that our bowling is going no where. Mind you folks - all the matches in 2015 WC will be in similar surfaces. So whats next for Indian bowlers?

Nothing weird about about it except in your mind. Do you think SAF would have gone with an all pacer attack in India ? Yuvi was not looking in form even in India. No harm in him sorting out his issues and then coming back. If players like Raina are so touchy about them being dropped in certain conditions then they should sort out the issues they are having.
