NEW DELHI: Former Pakistan captain Imran Khan on Saturday said recently-retired Indian batting icon Sachin Tendulkar was lucky to have never faced the ferocious West Indies pace attack of '70 and '80s. While delivering a lecture on leadership at an All India Management Association function here, Imran said facing the likes of Andy Roberts, Michael Holding, Joel Garner, Malcolm Marshall and Colin Croft was a huge task. In fact, Imran pointed out that some fine talent was forced to be on the bench because the frontliners were irreplaceable. "There was Sylvester Clark, who used to be on the bench mostly but on a rebel tour of South Africa, he demolished the opposition single-handedly," Imran said. "My friend, the poor guy, Sunny Gavaskar bore the brunt of the West Indian fast-bowling attack. Sachin is very lucky that he didn't face them," he added. Tendulkar retired recently after playing international cricket for nearly a quarter of century, notching up most of the batting records to be rated as the greatest of modern era

People can turn the table and say "West Indians are lucky that they didn't face sachin" ..They can always say if Srikkanth a batsman with crappy technique can hit 7 fours and a 6 in a world cup final against the most feareed attack what would viru do.. Cut the crap Imran. We know what you are upto. It is not to put down those great fast bowlers of WI or Sunny. Just to say Imran is a scumbag .

Imran khan was lucky he didn't have to face our current group of trundlers or else they would have put him in place All this 'ifs and buts' by former players seems ridiculously cheap and easy way of getting some publicity... he probably needs it after getting shunted in the paki general elections where he was suppose to be the next big thing after toiling for years... no worries pal, happens!

Imran was lucky not to have bowled against Tendulkar, Dravid, Ganguly, Laxman, Sehwag, Dhoni, Kohli, Pujara, Rohit, Dhawan etc etc. The current Indian team , with their fighting spirit and batting quality, would have destroyed his record against India, both as a captain as well as a seamer.

Cheap publicity stunt. Appeases Pakistan's masses and Taliban too.. Shrewd politician.
I think that could be real motive.. :winky: it will get him in good books of Taliban following recent comments from Taliban against Sachin

imran has got a valid point.. considering sachins height , he might have done well against them but no one likes their head to be targeted day in and day out.. :fear:article-0-19CF252200000578-857_246x246.jpg

But sachin faced Sami who is on par Malcom Marshall. Lol One of the greatest bowlers ever and a great leader but way off the mark at times while speaking. Imran Nazir is next Vivian Richards. Inzi is the greatest player of fast bowling. Terrorists never target cricketers. Biggest of them 2006 1st test in Pakistan. Pakistan batted first made 550+. He said Indian fast bowlers are ineffective India should search fast bowlers in Indian Punjab as they are the closest to Pakistanis in physical structure. And a day later Sehwag and Dravid were 410/0 against Pakistani Punjab. :haha:
