This is why BCCI should prepare some green/pacy tracks

We have seen what has happened in the last two ODIs. It's occured because of a lack of time to practice and some poor play. Had the BCCI prepared a few green, pacy pitches in our recent ODI series, we would have been more prepared for this tour. Yes, the conditions in SA are different but its better to have practice against pace and bounce somewhere than not at all. Bowlers could have worked on their areas and gained more momentum rather than being destroyed in AUS series. Others have argued that teams like AUS don't prepare spinning tracks "for us" when we tour there, but what i'm saying is prepare a few fast and bouncy tracks so that we are better prepared and batsmen know how to pace innings on tougher pitches. It will only benefit us if we are to remain and truly be number 1 in ODIs and improve test standing. Sure, the top 3-4 can play the short ball and hold their own but its more than that. Its about all departments of the team being well prepared before they even get into the country. Is it even possible to persuade BCCI/selectors to prepare such tracks?

Green tracks dont work in India. We have seen the result. It's lively for the first hour and then completely dies. You cannot replicate these types of pitches in India. The best thing you can do is have a few practice matches. I guess our players are using this series as practice matches. Can't blame them. No one's going to remember this series except a few pakis here and there.

Indian green tracks lol Dharmasala is one place where you can have that. MRF pace foundation has some bouncy tracks in chennai.

Green pitches can be made in northen part only specially delhi,mohali,dharmashala rest of india not possible due to humid weather,temperature

All batsmen from India who did good away tours in last 20 years played county cricket. With IPL and packed cricket, I don't see them having time to go to England and play.

It isn't really a need for green pitches, it is a need for the batsman to apply themselves better and play each ball on its merits. I mean a lot of players can play everywhere because it is more mental than anything.

Among many things bcci needs to do - one of them is send our team players to county cricket in england EVERY year. If ipl needs to be scrapped to create time for it, scrap it. But alas greedy bcci wont do it

Playing IPL time to time in overseas conditions wont be a bad idea.....Look at our team they are literally unbeatable in LOIs at home

Why cant dropin pitches? :dontknow: But who cares? our captain always craves for Spin tracks and we people make our players national heroes when they chase above 300 regularly on pattas.

All around India the conditions are varied and tracks too, there are quite a few tracks which offer some pace , movement, bounce to pacers, our loss in two odi is not due to this alone , First of all only the first odi track was favoring bowlers, second odi track was a good one for batting. Steyn is the best bowler in world cricket right now and it is facing him and that's the challenge but our batters are talented as any out there, also batters gave away their wicket in second odi, wasn't outstanding deliveries that did it. Mistakes were made by BCCI, we needed a longer tour, more practice games, always on away tours acclimatization and winning happens after a few draws or losses , so we are handicapped by these three, lastly Dhonis giving away the advantage in the first odi by playing two spinners and two trundlers and Shami not opening.

Good tracks like Wanderers one..! Good for pace bowling and strokeplay.. Somewhere where you need to have technique to score runs.
