Which four bowlers must play in next test?

Jadeja for a change. Ashwin was ineffective in the first test so we could try a different option.

Ashwin has earned his chance based on his home batting and bowling. So deserves to play the next Test and in NZ to show what he can do away from home and what he has learned after his poor tour of Aus in 2011-12. However, if he fails to do much in these 3 Tests then Jadeja should get a go. Overall doesn't look good with none of the four options - Ashwin, Jadeja, Pragyan and Mishra - looking world class spinners who can do the business outside India.

Jaddu might be ineffective too. But he has a more case as he is the best if there is any variable bounce. Also South Africa has lot of right handers.

Jadeja. Might have more success against SA right handers and also he is better at keeping things tingt than Ashwin imo

Ashwin has to be dropped irrespective of the combination you go for.

Ashwin has the potential to really build up the pressure. The batsmen had trouble scoring off him today but since they were scoring off the pacers on the other end the pressure didn't really last. Ashwin from one end, Jaddu from the other, and it would have been a different story.

Both of them, because Ashwin can keep it tight (batsmen had trouble scoring off him today) and Jaddu because of the left hand spin. The two of them together can really put the pressure on the batting side and give the seamers time to recover.

Ojha is probably our best spinner in test matches... but his batting is a big negative and so Ashwin/Jaddu get into consideration ahead of him whenever we play 1 spinner I don't think Dhobi will change anything for the next game.... but as far as opinion is concerned then i'd vote for Jaddu since his left arm spin provides a different variety now that we have dhobi, kohli, vijay etc as genuine bowling options :giggle: btw, i think ashwin is becoming a better batsman than jaddu but since our batting line-up did ok i wouldn't be too concerned about who gives the best batting option at number 8

None: yadav! I've said this everywhere. But if they must have a spinner, jadeja. He could pull a rahane and get us some fielding breakthroughs. Love his bowling too

i thought Ashwin did well in the first innings- given how difficult runs were to get then- he ran out of partners in 2nd innings- he gave it away as he tried to be aggressive

In a matter of one test match, from being the big all rounder we finally seem to have had, Ashwin doesn't deserve to be even in the 11. And IF Dhoni does pick Jaddu and he fails, same people suggesting he should be picked would be the first one to look for the Rhiti angle1

No, we can import mishra for someone and play with 4 spinners, if not enough bowl rohit sharma and dhawans offspinners and we will Comfortably win.
