5-man bowling attack for next test

I don't think Saffers will bite the fuller pitched ball bait again and they will wait for our bowlers to tire. The present 4 man attack will easily tire if they have to bowl 5+ sessions especially if SA win the toss and decide to bat first. Replacing Rohit and Ashwin for Jadeja and Yadav should strengthen the bowling. PROS: - Jadeja might be a trickier customer for the right handed Saffers and bowls a very tight line at the least -We get Jadeja as a fielder and Yadav is very capable at covers - Yadav can easily cover another 20 odd overs, his pace should bring another dimension to the attack. CONS: - Loosing Ashwin and Rohit severely weakens the batting especially if Ashwin doesn't play. I think Jadeja will struggle with the bat and Yadav lengthens an already long tail - Will loose the designated slip fielder If we need to win the next test and get 20 SA wickets then the bowling resources have to be strengthened. They have a long batting line up and it will be very hard work if we only have 4 bowlers. Its a huge gamble especially if the Indian top order collapses but I believe the openers will put on an improved show this time. Kohli, Pujara and Kohli are looking good. Rahane/Dhoni have got starts and should hopefully bat longer this time round.

Dude. It's never going to happen. Dhoni or any captain for that matter will not remove one of it's batsman to accomodate a bowler. ashwin can go, he's likely to be under the hammer. Im sure india's coaching staff, fletcher have seen how duminy outbowled ashwin. Lyon's been better than ashwin too. This idiot needs to learn how to take wickets overseas. Why wouldn't you give jadeja a go?

Better option umesh in place of ashwin. No spinners needed the pitch will be prepared for a 3day match.

Go with 4 Pacers (include Umesh) and Rohit should be used as an allrounder....He has taken quite some wickets in WI A tour. Will not do any bad than Ashwin

Bhajji also scored more fifties than overseas it did not make him an all rounder. Until India gets rid of this guy who is masquerading himself as a test batsman nothing great can done by this team.

:facepalm: Averages 40 in England, 77 in New Zealand, 60 in Pakistan, Overall average 39 which is very good for a wicket keeper. Even average of 30 is not bad in South africa as Sehwag averaged 25 and Dravid averaged 29 here. That was for test matches. He has done much better in ODIs overseas, avg. 60 in Australia and 37 in Eng. Overall average 52. Think for a bit before you write whatever comes to your mind.

Dhoni odis batting alleviates expectations for his test batting ,which is not going to happen with his shoddy technique.His best chance is to counter attack and hope its his day as some of his knocks overseas have shown.Its the 200-5 situations where he is struggling which really is a problem with our tail as if he bats with the tail he can score big like he showed in last eng tour where captain did not attack him and gave him singles.

Dhoni is not a good test batsmen especially away from sub continent period and irony is he is not only the captain but also most experienced player. Given as many chances to any keeper, they would also come good.Even guy like Ajay Rathra had scored 100 in WI, Dhoni by accident should have scored a 100 he played so many tests on roads away from home. The only 100 he scored away from home was on the grand daddy of all roads in Faisalabad. Yes Sehwag and Dravid stunk in SA along with other batsmen who have stunk in some other placs at various times, now you know why Indian batting with all their glittering records has this wonderful reputation of HTBs and lambs ready to be slaughtered when touring abroad and we have 0-8 as a result of carrying these passengers. This is a young batting unit which is eager to prove its worth away from home and we don't need anyone to drag them down with their ineptitude. Indian team will always do okay at home they don't need Dhoni to be good at home they will be good with or without Dhoni at home. Let Dhoni concentrate on ODI and leave test cricket to someone else.
