Team India test team needs a new captain and fresh ideas...

Enough of this joker Dhoni... You can find as much excuses like failure of Indian bowlers, bowling etc till the cows come home... The team is in a transition and I'm sorry Dhoni is not the right person to help in any sort of transition or build a new team... I hope Srini's eclipse over BCCI end soon in 2014 which paves the way for Dhoni being stripped of Test captaincy. Let a new captain with a fresh and attacking outlook build the team instead of resigning to a defensive fate...

It did not happen during 0-8 thrashing in England and Australia ..so , the chances of this happening now are next to zilch :sherlock:

They are always trying to pitch the ball up' date=' never really tries to be aggressive.[/quote'] On this pitch, short pitch bowling, coming around the wicket, having short leg, leg gully, deep square leg etc. is one of the bowling strategies that had actually worked. We tried it for a brief period on SAF when Smith, Peterson and the Amla were batting. We managed to put a lot of pressure on them. Shami has the pace and Ishant has the height to execute this strategy. But, for some inexplicable reason, after Kallis came in, this strategy was never used again by Dhoni. Generally too, in test matches, fast or even fast medium pacers bowl a lot of short balls in tests, push the batsmen back , soften them up and then pitch the ball up to take wickets. This strategy has been used by captains, fast bowlers and even fast medium pacers, for 5 decades. Why are we so unwilling to use a tried and tested strategy ? Shami, Umesh and Ishant are capable of doing this. Why doesn't Dhoni use this tried and tested method for 5 decades or even more ?

Can I say new fans, new media? After all, it is due to us, fans and media that our just decent players are made out to be greats. Can we stop this over hype culture? Can our players stop believing in their hype, instead, do some hard work and be more professional. For me, professional was one the key issues from the series. We lose a test match and what does our captain say he will do in that extra day, relax. What a disappointment.
