Kumble too preferred trundlers like RP ahead of him :giggle: Pankaj himself was a trundler then, used to bowl 125K then. If he was bowling at the same pace even now, we would not have been talking about his inclusion. OTT, RP was not as poor then what he became. His bad time started after that.

I bet he is far more upset considering binny made the team. You are comparing a pacers wicket on Indian pitches to a spinners wicket on Indian pitches.

Finished with 266 wickets in 66 matches at average of 20. Made a squad I think but not heard of again. I don't know how good a bowler he actually was, probably a typical FC accurate seam and swing bowler who relied on freindly home conditions.

Gagandeep Singh was quite a bit like Joginder Sharma who also had an excellent record (and still has v.good record) but wasn't international standard. I feel that Pandey and Pankaj can and will do better if given more chances.

Will be more than happy to eat humble pies but not happening He is certainly not as slow as PK or Vinay. There was a time when he was slower than them, but now now. After some work with Mayrick Pringle on his technical aspects, he now bowls in 135-140K range for the last 2 years and with his 6'5-6" frame and high arm action gets a lot of bounce too.

But at rarified high level of international cricket in tests will be mediocre. Hope to be proved wrong
