i couldnt care less about the rankings but we have serious problems with our team from top to bottom .we also have a intransigent captain who always comes with lame counter intuitive ideas and he is wrong most of the time but nobody has the balls to question him.

Dhawan shud not be blamed. Poor guy is always doing the catching up job on the run rate, thanks to super talented Rohit Sharma. The pressure of keeping upto the ur rate while ur partner, Rohit Sharma, on the end is showing off his elegant lazy bottom handed leaves and defence can get to anyone.

Dhobi won't change the team... He's a mountain troll... Even if he's forced to select Aaron, he'll not support him in the match, give him random spells, keep his quota un-finished, if possible try to deny him any wickets and generally show his indifference or dis-pleasure towards Aaron.. These are all tried and tested Dhobi tactics and we have seen these on many occasions earlier...

His 8 innings in the 12/13 season averages at 20. He still vulnerable outside off when I saw his county innings (except for a streaky century towards the end of a test) and basically doesn't have many years left in him. Id rather have someone younger and hopefully a long term prospect, eg. Pujara.

We don't have another Tendulkar waiting to come into INdian team as an opener that we can drop both our openers so fast. I want to give Dhawan a serious run here. He has looked like scoring every time like Sehwag, but has just thrown away. In south Africa, when Rohit Sharma was batting at a run rate or tortoise, Dhawan always looked like scoring even under pressure which was not being put by Steyn and co, but by his own partner Sharma, because of extremely slow RR. I seriously won't mind a pair of Gambhir-Dhawan or Rahane/Dhawan with Pujara coming 2nd down after Kohli

How can u guys forget India's tour of England where we lost every match. Vinay Kumar was the culprit there and our same old Varun Arun was warming the benches. Match after match, everyone was expecting VKumar to be dropped and replaced By VArun but stubborn khachar Dhoni didn't drop VKumar and VArun warmed benches throughout the England tour

Streaky centuary? It was a fluent knock and I followed his whole county tour through the BBC Essex radio. He rarely poked outside off. Although, his ton in Ranji was a bit dodgy in the starr, until 60 or so and went on fluently. The only opener suitable to replace Rohit is Pujara and Gambhir wouldn't be a bad bet in the WC as he has good record in NZ and in ODIs on Aus wickets. Chand has been out of touch in this season. I hope Dhawan does well, because if Pujara is opening then we need someone like Dhawan at the other end.

Bring in Rayudu for Rohit, Aaron for Ishant and i would stick with Ashwin as he has had nothing to work with in terms of turn and we have no other quality spinner in the ranks (unless u play Jadega as your main spinner and 4 quick’s, which is better than playing Mishra imo). Long term, Gambhir, Pujara in the batting lineup are surely essential, cant see the current team doing anything in the WC 2015, but obviously things change very quick and by then Rahane etc could be doing better.

The DNA of Indian success is missing in this team. 1) Attacking openers at both ends : Ever since Sachin & Sourav formed a pair at the top, they changed the complete approach of the Indian Team and the team to follow, i.e. Sehwag-Gambhir. But under Dhonis captainc, the DNA (the attacking approach) is amiss. Dhawan & Sharma, sure have allot of class about them, but Sharma surely is not an attacking opener, his approach is that of a players from 90's which will not take us anywhere in modern day cricket. 2) 7 batters : Where are 7 batters? I don't see them anywhere in this team, our batting prowess stops at Dhoni at No 6, then the 2 bits n pieces players who will give you an odd fifty in 15 games. 3) Middle order Firepower : Where is our impact player in this team? With downfall of Yuvraj Singh, the middle order firepower looks bleak, we dont have a player who could come in and make a 20-25 ball 50 when need be. The 2 matches so far in the tour proves that there's too much left for Dhoni to acheive in the end and he definitely needs a yuvi at the other end to get the adrenaline going. Batting is our strength and with this current 11, i dont see us making through the 1st round of World Cup'15. I am not going to discuss Dhoni's captaincy, our bowling attack, the long ropes etc. Too much has been said about it already, but Dhoni is certainly destroying the mantra of our success, he has certainly failed the Indian Batting in South Africa, and now well on its way in New Zealand.
