This Kiwi side probably is the best Kiwi ODI side I have seen. Just for context, they toured right before the 2011 world cup and we blanked them 5-0 in a 5 game series. This, despite resting a lot of our ODI stars of the 2011. This team, however, has an entirely different feel to it. There is a very menacining sense of confidence about them. Everyone (except maybe Martin Guptill) seems to know exactly what their role in the team is. But beyond that, a lot of teams are now finally catching up with India in terms of their approach to the ODI game. At some point during the Kirsten era, we made a conscious choice to lean towards power hitters in the ODI game. If you look at Australia, there's a difference of night and day between their ODI team of 2 years ago to now. Their line-up is now replete with power players (Finch, Watson, Bailey, Maxwell, Faulkner etc). NZ is going the same route too. McCullum has always been good in the shorter format. In his day, Taylor can singlehandedly tear apart an attach. Ronchi is above average and this new boy Corey Anderson be reaaaaaaaallly good! This is an extrelemy good kiwi team. I think most of us just slept on them.

Rahane hardly looked clueless like Rohit sharma. RRR like 8.2 is against his basic nature of batting. He does have some draw backs. Most to do with lack of power hitting. Technically he looked much better.

Rahane is fine in tests he can duck but if he is batting in middle order and he cannot use long handle , it is very difficult for him to sustain a place. Dhobi even with all his ability can get you a 60 of 45 to 50 balls but he cannot score those big sixes outside India. So other than Kohli who is there in this batting line up to score 50 of 30 balls outside India. They are asking Kohli not only to bat long but also bat fast every match he is not robot. This idiot Dhoni why is he chasing every match, this idiot needs to go as a captain or India is going nowhere. Last five wickets are a joke I have not seen a weaker last five batsmen than this line up, if any idiot say jadeja is an all rounder that guy needs to get his head examined. If Dhawan and nohit had their moment in sun and are done then we have to redo whole batting line up.

I am not juding rahane but it is very clear at his very best Rahane can play anchor role this guy simply can't hit ball in air and chase high run rates so either he is opener or we need somebody else. Yuvraj is a must for this team to compete in world cup .
