Indian Cricket In Yet Another Downward Spiral?

Bowlers needed. 4-5 Genuine pacers needed, who can bowl 145ks, and swing the ball. Indian pace attack is what seems to be the main problem. Everytime there's 300+score on card. Shami and Bhuvi are great but Bhuvi doesn't have that pace to rattle class batsmen. And Shami sometimes seems to have skipped his breakfast - Just bowls full tosses IMO If India can produce more bowlers like Shami, Zaheer, Bhuvi with a bit more pace and accuracy then there's a great chance for Victory outside SC

What do you think is the prognosis for such toothless bowling? More often than not, our bowlers are the ones who put our batsmen under pressure......

forget the batting(its not that great but still good enough),the bowling is a massive concern!! it all starts with the bowlers themselves,are they satisfied by restricting the opposition for 300 (which is a huge score),are they given specific roles? do they acknowledge their roles? i think the bowlers, most of the time are clueless.. now come to the bowling coach,is he doing the job?no .has he rectified our bowling flaw? no..is he accountable? absolutely not .. now the captaincy,dhoni is clueless most of the times with his field placings,use of bowlers..he does not come out with a plan,lets the game drift away so easily.. these are major concerns that wont get rectified so easily

I find him to be a very reactive captain, not a proactive one.

Lot of practice needed to bring consistency and decisiveness in bowling.

The team also lacks the intensity on the field (gets magnified due to the losses). Go back to the CT, they showed hunger to do well, fielded like tigers which made the bowling doubly effective. Now forget bowling and batting for a moment, we see so many misfields, overthrow, fielders missing easy collections, not attacking the ball enough, lack of communication and at times not enough encouragement either. Inexcusable for a young side.

First of all favouritism has to be stopped.There are some players who have failed consistently,but they were newer dropped.Half of the team comes from a single IPL franchisee.If some players are selected outside this group,they are not given chance,even if team is loosing .In this series also bowling is the weak link,but Pandey & Mishra are not given any game even after loosing the series.Some serious nonglamourous players Pujara,Pankaj Singh,Rishi Dhawan are not considered at all.If we compare the perfomance of Binny & Dhawan in the last 2 season,it is injustic to RD to select Binny

Not necessarily. There are still tactical decisions like field placings/declaration/use of bowlers at the right time. MS has been a little disappointing with his handling of pacers.
