Dhoni is actually quite a good keeper. Ideally I'd have Mongia ofcourse but he was a cheat, so i had to overlook him. I dont care how gun a batsman Sanga is, he isnt fit to tie my shoes at wicketkeeping, let alone Dhoni or anyone who is a fulltime keeper.

He was decent against WI/Pak but was far more impressive than Anwar's disastrous performances against WI/SA. His gritty 116 vs Marshall and co and a match saving 97 vs Pak in '89 deserve a mention. He was also very good against the great Richard Hadlee. And he was pretty much the greatest modern day player of spin along with Brian Lara. All Anwar has are a couple of fine series against Australia and a fluke 100 against SA when Donald didn't even bowl that much. :giggle: And he is being compared with Sehwag. Lulz. PS: Anwar has one 50+ score in about 50 ODIs vs Aus/SA :cantstop:

It was the kind of "fluke" century that Sehwag couldn't score in his dreams. To claim that it was a fluke either shows your bias or lack of cricketing knowlege. A couple of good series against Australia? Anwar outperformed most batsmen vs a strong Australian bowling side. He averaged close to 60 against them. Sehwag couldn't do that if his life depended on it. Its a joke to compare Sehwag to Anwar. Sehwag is nothing more than a flat track bullly who played in an era which lacked many truly great fast bowlers, yet he failed miserably playing away from home. Anwar > Sehwag, and it isn't a contest.

Donald bowled 10 overs in 2nd inning where Anwar scored a 100. Compare that to Fanie's 16, Pollock's 22 and Kallis' 17. Sehwag scored a 100 on debut in SA against Pollock, Ntini, Kallis, Hayward.

Just to clarify on Amir. The guy I saw him live, is freaking amazing. The ability to swing the ball both ways at 140km is just wow. He could have one of the greats but yeah kind of sad what happened.

anwer gavaskar sanga sachin aravinda miandad prassana jayawardene (wk) imran © waqar wasim murali went with sanga over dravid because he is more dynamic and score quicker. dravid, while he was a great batsman, has no business batting in a xi with so many greats. he'll just suck the life out with his slow batting. aravinda is a the x factor down the order and provides a handy bowling option. prassana jayawardene is the best keeper from asia in the last 25 years. anwer over sehwag is an obvious choice. nobody likes a ftb opener.
