BCCI has said that they will embrace it once the flaws are rectified.They also prefer Hawk-eye over the UDRS If I am not mistaken Even if the DRS is 90-95% accurate, I will embrace it as decisions are at the mnost 60-70% correct. At least with DRS one can correct such woeful decisions. An inside edge, a ball that pitched outside leg, a ball that touched the shoulder and not the bat etc.

If you don't want it, [b']accept the decision that come your way and don't cry about it. Wrong decisions will happen amidst some brilliant decisions, human error. When you see an umpire handing it to the third umpire for a 4, or a six, or a run out, he did not see it clearly as it was far/fast. But in case of LBW, caught behind, he has seen it dead straight in front of him. He expects to give a decision on those. If you feel he must confirm his decisions with the third umpire, why have the on field umpire then at the first place? Go for Technology and let the third umpire make the decision and the on field umpire is only an on field spectator. Discussion about wrong decisions have been going on for ages will continue even if there was no DRS. Umpires used to give run-out decisions and boundaries even when there was no third umpire. Introducing third umpire didn't turn them into spectators.

In terms of run outs, yes, most of the close run outs are handed over to the third umpire, the on field umpire has very little to do apart from passing on the baton to the third umpire who makes the call. He just takes call on a run out which is evident or crystal clear even to the naked eye. About the wrong decisions, the technology has advanced and we just can't be resistant to a technology just because it isn't 100% fool proof. I mean, nothing is perfect, why don't we just accept it that it will give us better decisions rather than looking at 100% as if the on field umpires are Gods who never makes mistakes. For me, a 90% accurate decision making module is better than 70%.

I used to get mad at opposition team and umpires whenever India got shafted by poor umpiring, now I don't shed a tear. They deserve it!

I think he should open the batting in ODIs too.

I feel for india because this young side gave it all and lost because of poor umpiring. To me almost every 50/50 call went against Ind and that's where it hurt them. We can't hope to win very many when we keep on conceding huge totals away from home. Happened against SA and same story repeated here.
