We generally do well when spinners bowl well, irrespective of the captain. When we had good ODI batsmen like Yuvi, Raina, Dhoni, Sachin, Sehwag etc. we put up big totals. With lack of hitting power in the middle order now, we put up below par score totals in games against SL and Pak, hence we couldn't defend it. In NZ too, we could have chased some of the totals if the middle order fired.

Did brilliantly. Defending 246 was not going to be easy at all. Made some great bowling changes. Kept going to Shami when he needed wickets. I thought keeping Ashwin for the last over was a great decision. Too bad it backfired but Afridi could've easily skied it for a catch. Credit to Kohli for getting it to the last over against both Sri Lanka and Pakistan. We needed a more defendable total and that's where Dhoni's experience as a finisher counted. Yuvraj might make a comeback too seeing the way he's performing in domestic cricket.

Dhoni doesn't win bilateral series' in LOI's abroad but the 2 global tournaments he's captained in LOI's abroad he's won. I don't know why but Dhoni gets results, simple as that. He should remain LOI captain. And it doesn't help Kohli's cause that he didn't get the result regardless of reason why.

Yeah but thing is Kohli bought Binny in... Not even Dhoni would do that. I thought he would be a bit more aggressive than that given how he is while playing.
