It is funny that people criticize Agarkar. The guy did not fade away after getting to that 50 wickets as lots of Indian bowlers have done. He was still a genuine wicket taker for the Indians (We don't have too many). 288 wickets in 191 ODI's is a brilliant record for any bowler in the world. In spite of his high economy rate he still maintained an average of 27.85 (I think the lowest among Indian ODI bowlers with at least 100 wickets but not sure) and a SR of 32.9. Whatever way you see it, he was one of the best Indian ODI bowlers of all time. He wasn't bad in comparison to other bowlers around the world too during his time. He did play till 2007 for India and had a great year in ODI during the 2006/07 season. So cannot accept the argument that he would have struggled in current scenario.

Laughable that when Shami takes wickets they are due to good bowling but when Agarkar took that is due to bad bowling.The fact is there is no comparison yet to way Ajit Agarkar took the first 50 wickets although things will be different for later part of career.No pacer has got such kind of start. Personally, i am glad that the record of fastest 50 wickets belong to Indian pacer.Shami too seems to be wicket taker bowler.Will be interesting to see how his future career unfolds.

Nonsense.....there is not much difference between 2006 and now. Wickets were flat then, wickets are flat now...Agarkar played against some great players and faced Jaya, Gilchrist, Gibbs et all at their peak. They were all much more devastating than players of today.
