:cantstop: Ok see below for some of the benefits: * They bowl slow so have better control over line and length * Since they trundle, they don't have to worry about bowling too much reverse swing. Less things on their minds = more focus on things such as control * Relatively slower so slower they go to the boundaries, esp. useful when edges don't go quickly to the boundary and fielders can look good by making a diving stop (and commentators can say the fielder saved a run!) * Shorter run up so less time wasted in run ups, and the captain is not penalized by slow over rate (Watching someone like Akthar run up to the crease is so tiring for the viewers as well) * Can bowl longer spells vs. a fast bowler * Batsmen can look to sweep, which means additional opportunities to get an edge (wkts!) * Relatively lower risk of injuries = lower insurance premiums (more cost savings for organizations BCCI) * When the team fails, it is easy for the captain to point to them (scapegoats) * Keeps spinners on their toes as they can be expected to ball any time, even with the new ball (For e.g. Hafeez vs SL) * Cost (low contract price) Certainly not an exhaustive list but benefits > costs :P

We are after all "Well Oiled Machine".. producing world class Trundlers !! I mean no nation in history of cricket has produced so many trundlers one after another ....it needs some kind of special talent !!!

We have to come out of the illusion we have covered every single base except Raw pace. We lack so many aspects that is required to be a successful fast bowler.
Pace is the first thing you need to check and if they have that then it is the right guidance they are not getting. Then send them to overseas academies.

MRF has been there since ages but there are not enough good coaches there. Senthilnathan is their head coach. Mcgrath comes twice a year. Our bowlers need to feel the environment that is in countries like Australia for pacers.

Benefits of trundlers will only be fully recognized when we have Umesh' date='Varun and Vinay in the bowling lineup.[/quote'] Vinay is also a trundler. :two_thumbs_up:

There is no ideal ODI in India right now whether trundler or a fast bowler. They all are lacking one thing or two. We need at least one bowler of combination of BK, Shami, and Aaron who does not leak runs like BK, takes wickets like Shami, and bowls at pace of Aaron.:winky:

You need to come in with some skills. We have burnt fingers with VRV singh who bowled at 140 plus but he was gun barrell straight. Ishant sharma is another guy who "wanted" to bowl 100 mph. Infact he did register good speeds . But that is when he was hurt the most. So i am not sure "pace is the first thing" you need. When you say pace 140 is also pace 145 is also pace. Former is Shami range. later is Varu aaron range. If you think we are going to eke out Mitchell Johnson that is not going to happen. Our fitness level will never match an Australia, South African. If our guys strive for control and movement they go awry. Bowling skill should become second nature then you have to add more and more pace. I don't say come in as 120 k bowler and build pace. Bhuvan, Shami both can average 135 to 140k easily. Couple of yards with their skills can be good.
