India was roundly thrashed. in 8 tests. India did not cross 300 even once in 8 tests. If that was what Ganguly going to have from his batsmen he would have produced similar results as well. I would give Ganguly edge in overseas tests as he tried to do something, he did give Indian cricket Sehwag. Dhobi on other hand has ruined what ever confidence his previous captains built.

They both tried to address issue of bowling by playing five bowlers but both Sachin and Dravid himself stunk with bat to totally ruin that decision.

That said Dravid was one skipper who tried to do what ever it took to make the team better, he played as an opener to accommodate Yuvraj even though he was the best batsman in the team. I don't think Dravid had any agendas he just wanted to do the best job he could do .

It was ganguly's idea to move Sehwag as an opener and it changed our test batting completely and we started doing well in tests overseas. It was under Ganguly we got so many good new players like Yuvi, Bhajji, Zak, Viru etc. and went on to win many important ODI events including finalists of the 03 WC. I have no doubt we would have won that WC if we didnt have to face the greatest team ever in the finals. Same legacy carried on by MSD and he did even better. Multi world cup winner, no. 1 test ranking, tri series win in Aust etc. In comes Dravid and we got knocked out of the 07 WC 1st round. But but but...Dravid is great :two_thumbs_up:

He was neither tactically sound nor a great man manager. He openly fought with Srinath on the field in West Indies. An otherwise Srinath yelled back at Ganguly. Then his spat with Dravid. Then his comment about Dravid declaring innings when Tendulkar was on 194. Just look at the comments he is spitting these days. Look at the guys he promotes these days. Does he talk anything sense?
