Om Puri is likely to say things of this nature while he is in Pakistan. What will really matter is if he says the same things when he returns and makes an effort where he can influence to implement the same. While I can definitely understand that Pakistanis want to seek employment in India for economic reasons, the politics behind an India-Pakistan relationship and the distrust that exists between the two sides will make it very difficult to have normal trading relationships. There will always be backlash against Pakistanis in the entertainment business in India whenever any terrorist attacks occur in India or Pakistan shows aggression on the border.

No one can explain to me on this website - why India seeks MFN status then... WHY? Makes no sense that on one hand you look to increase economic ties and then make arts and literature and culture suffer based on some "principles" (where there really are none).

we really dont want MFN status and increased trade. If your govt got the feeling from the current govt, it is a mistake. All we want is peaceful existence.

I believe they seek it on a reciprocal basis since India has granted MFN status to Pakistan long ago.

He is not get ANY roles anyway. Reminds me of Venkatesh Prasad announcing retirement from international cricket years after being dropped from the team.
He is a classy theater artist. They don't go around looking for roles in movies.
