He has at least tried to win and came very close defending low totals. And look at his squad' date=' no raina, dhoni, yuvi but more test batters than odi bats[/quote'] so close matches under Kohli = trying to win close warmup match under Dhoni = not trying to win :hmmm:

Guys - Dhoni got injured while keeping against Aaron. That beamer ball which went to leg side..he immediately shook his hand in mild pain. Not sure how many of you noticed he was stretching his fingers with a band in the dug out while India were batting.

Kohli has won matches against WI, SL and Zim when he was made impromptu captain. Then in asia cup where our batting failed he atleast made good matches out of them, brought everyone's spirits up, ashwin was fired up, bhuvi bowled a superb death over which iv never seen him do - where he took 2 wickets. We didnt win but cant forget that DK cost us too. Still, he had that NEVER SAY DIE attitude. I can guarantee that kohli would have finished the match off. Dhoni: 7 off 4 balls, can come in a finish it or try, yet sends bhuvi in? What message does that send? Went from a winning position to a losing one and that is typical MSD overseas, and now it seems he is like that on the sub too. Close warmup match under dhoni? :hysterical: the batsmen did the work and dhoni shat on it all. Ashwin tried, scored something, binny tried but maybe not good enough. yes the other batsmen failed but 7 off 4 cmon.. why send bhuvi? one six and game over

We already did in the Asia Cup' date='yet people were calm[/quote'] there was an excuse with some players missing out.. here it's a World Cup and dont want that unbeaten streak to end.

Unless Dhoni was not in a position to bat, this was absolutely pathetic. Despite that finger injury, he did continue to keep, if it was so dangerous should have stopped keeping the moment he got hit! The team doesnt look like going past round one and that would be another feather in the cap for Dhoni.

we have no reserve keeper.so he had no option of not keeping

Are yaar koi bhi keeping kar sakta tha..if batting for 4 deliveries is so dangerous, keeping especially against Aaron would have been far more dangerous. And this excuse of of a warm up match doesnt quite make sense. You always play to win, especially with a team which hasnt won much for ages now. Anyways I dont have much hope with the team, so such an approach doesn't surprise me.

injured Dhoni keeping against Aaron was dangerous, but a non-keeper who hasnt done it in his life, keeping against Aaron would have doubly dangerous and downright stupid.Injured Dhoni was still the safest bet for the job. He had the option of not batting which he did. About your other point ,yes you play to win,but you don't risk or down the chance of losing main matches in trying to win a warmup. At the end,it counts for nothing

Forum rivalry at the fever pitch, a loss = an opportunity lost at one-up-man-ship ----> calm down, this was just a practice game. In 2007 ODI WC, iirc, we won our practice games but were knocked out in the 1st round .... Win the battle that counts :icflove:
