He was as conservative captain as dhobi was if not worse. IK as a captain tactically was exposed in 1988 series when other than home umpires he had a very strong team but could not force even single win against India. If not for home based umpiring I don't think he would have had even 14 wins.So give me a break about IK's great captaincy. IK's great skill as captain was he united utterly chaotic players who had their own agendas. Imran's Pakistan team won test series and ODI series on India tour in 1987. Pakistan imported neutral English umpires for India's tour of Pakistan in 1989. Pakistan even used neutral Indian umpire for our home series against the mighty West Indies and they still could not beat Imran's Pakistan team. Stop rona about home umpires, every team benefited from their home umpires but it was Iman Khan who advocated for neutral umpires in cricket.

IK's great skill as captain was he united utterly chaotic players who had their own agendas. tbf some of those series he invited neutral umpires. i also remember reading that he would also just sit out games against weak opposition like NZ or teams weakened by kerry packeer. So he sat out of easy wins (which Pak won under Miandad) which would have bumbed up his win account tremendously. Reeks of arrogance though Javed Miandad also had 14 wins as test captain and I read that many of these should be attributed to IK pretty much. Id say in test IK is better than Dhoni BUT overall Dhoni is better and is also a better person and more impressive personality

No balls not called, lbw not given the list goes on and on.

It is common the most common statement coming most Pakistanis both players and fans. Most teams do it so we do it too. No most team don't have biased umpiring , most teams dont use coke bottle tops . So stop generalizing. You made my point in 1987 Pakistan won in India with Indian umpires a test and series by just 17 runs.Indian team's win percentage sky rocketed once neutral umpires came into equation at home. Anyways this is about Imran as a captain and his failure to win even one test that too at home against a weak Indian team where he as captain showed a very little aggression. Imran thought he would roll over weak Indian team so he had requested neutral umpires but soon found out how much home umpiring meant for his team. What great fricking thing Imran has achieved as a captain which Dhoni has not done. Dhoni won his World cups in his first attempts where as Imran had to depend of stupid rain rule to get his lucky one.
