Firstly (a) Pakistani players will improve the quality of the ipl. they are better suited to asian conditions (b) There will be a spike in view ship in pakistan The downside is (a) Political parties like the sena will target teams having their players. So as a team you dont have the option potentially of playing pak players in mumbai. Thats just one place. That also means you have to pay a lot of money to boost security as even if 10% of the people want to attack the pakistani player it means that there is a serious issue. With international teams its easier to protect one venue and hotel (b) sponsors will pull out. Assuming there is a spike in view ship in pakistan at the moment , GEO i think signed a long term commitment with the IPL. So the profits of that would goto GEO . Not the franchises who picked the pakistani players. So if i am a franchise and i pick a pakistani player. I get no monetary benefit as even if GEO pays out more due to rising viewership , its shared among franchises. While the franchise picking the pakistani player assumes all the risks. © There are only 4 players who are foreign who the main teams play. So effectively I think most teams need 4*8 main 4 players and 8 as cover. International cricket does offer that depth right now. Next season the sri lankans will be back.

People equating these players to terrorists need their heads examined. Once that series in 2012 happened, I don't see any reason why they should be barred from IPL as long as owners are willing to spend money on them. You need to calm down. Deep down they hold hatred for India. They donate money to causes that hurt India. None of them has publicly condemned any incident against India. The pakistani posters on this board show deep resentment. Some of them claim Ajmal Kasab is not pakistani. Till there is a fundamental change the answer is absolute no. You have a choice to hug the people who killed our brothers and sisters in Mumbai or ignore them. I made my choice.

Once BCCI allowed that odi series to played in India in 2012.They and govt had no other excuse to exclude them from IPL. Similarly once BCCI has given permission to play IPL matches in UAE , they cannot turn back and say to PCB we wont play test series in UAE.

I don't know but if (bcci) are so apprehensive about their intentions, why have home series with them. once that happened BCCI should let owners decide if they want pakistani players in IPL. If BCCI or govt of India have any info on any players being sympathetic towards terrorists they should let every one know about it. It is same as not giving a job to an Indian who is muslim in India because you think he is pro Pakistan. Same thing with playing in UAE, since SA is no longer ally BCCI bolted on its principle of not playing in UAE and now if PCB wants to host its home series in UAE BCCI cannot turn around and say we don't play in UAE.

Sachin's dismissal brought the crowd to a stunned silence. But they found their voice soon when Jayasuriya thrashed Akhtar and Ishant and scored almost 90% of the target (60 odd) runs in less than 20 balls. May be you both were referring to Sehwag's dismissal at Eden Gardens where Akhtar ran amock. No he was wrong. They weren't cheering for Akhtar. That will never happen in Mumbai. They don't even cheer for Indian players of opposite teams. :cantstop:

They tried to arm twist the BCCI by refusing to play the second edition on security grounds, when other teams had no such problems. BCCI paid them back in the same coin, the players don't deserve this but PCB deserves this.

Many tend to forget that PCB stopped their players from participating in the IPL after Mumbai attacks. Teams with Pakistani players suffered because of that. They were clapping for Tendulkar not Akhtar. That does not happen in Mumbai, it may happen in some other ground like Bangalore or Chennai but not in Mumbai. Mumbai has the worst crowd in India when it comes to jingoism. I have been to quite a few games in many cities in India. Mumbai crowd is both the best (because they are the most passionate ones) and the worst (poor sport).
