Had Bowled three very good innings in NZ before losing it completely in the last innings. Doubt if the selectors and team management will go to England with almost a rookie attack .

My problem is that he's too hot and cold in the same spell. That's not the kinda bowlers you need in tests.

My 5th pacer will be Aaron. Bowling really well at the moment and deserve a chance in test team.

I would keep Umesh for the tests and Aaron for the ODIs/T20s I personally will go with bhuvi Umesh and shami as pacers with sir/ashwin as bowlers.

It is a good opportunity for him to call it quits. He had a great career by Indian fast bowlers' standard. Would be remembered fondly and this would also feel like going out on his own terms.

That is unfortunate but once again shows his fragility at this stage in his career. However, I was impressed with the amount of workload he bore in our recent test match tours. He bowled a LOT of overs while our team gave SAF and NZ 400+ and 500+ scores (though he was largely ineffective). So all in all I'm hoping that he realizes this sooner rather than later and quits intl cricket. I would seriously love/hope to have him in a McDermott or Donald type of role for our young pacers starting with the tour of England.

Zak should retire ...he is not in shape to take 5 test tour in which India will be invariably bowling for 2 days just to get 10 opposition wkts.

Yes that would be a great role for him. He can work as a mentor/bowling coach for the young bowlers in England. He knows a lot about the playing conditions there.

+1. He was as valuable as the fab four in his heyday but he is years removed from it. Instead of sinking further into ineffectiveness and irrelevance, it is better he uses this injury as his reason to bail out now.

its probably a blessing. Zaheer khan has been a great servant for Indian cricket and i hope he gets a benefit match for mumbai ranji and india. My pacers tests, ranked as per my opinion (1) Shami (2) Bhuvi (3) Umesh (4) Ishwar (5) Dhawal Kulkarni but in reality we will mostly go in now with Bhuvi Shami and ofcourse Ishant..... Its probably between Ishwar and Dhaval for the final slot.

Fair enough but I like pandey more than Aaron for tests ...Aaron can be 4 th seamer if we decide to do that
