Im not sure GG deserves to be backup opener he will ust poke outside off and ct behind repeatedly. but you can see why selectors opted for him as a 'safe' bet

Tiger-Don Posted May 29, 2014 Posted May 29, 2014 my take on this squad: my opinion the openers will definitely be uthhapa and rahane. and puujara will be in number 3 that i also know for sure. we all know what kind of form utthapas in, rahana too has proved himself in the past and pujara, who is a test specialist i think, also can score big in this odi format. for the 4th position, i think rayudu ad tiwary will have to battle things out. they both are extremely talented and i think there will be a coin toss on who'll come in this position. the 5th position will be occupied buy raina, that is for sure. his ability to play freely from ball 1 is his plus point. Also i think he'll be the biggest threat for my team. from the best of my knowledge, the next ones in the line up will be saha (wk), kedar and binny. yes very inexperienced but i know that they can score quickly and it will be crucial for india that do so. bangladesh will go to Shakib, our best bowler to attack these young guys. Shakib will hopefully have some knowledge on them. now for you bowling: now because bangaldeshi pitches will be spin friendly, akshar patel, mishra, and rasool all have a decent chance of getting into the line up. mishra and askhar will be the threat for us. In the pace department, mohit, umesh and vinay are there. only two will play. umesh and mohit are in good form. to be honest, i see us winning this series 2-1. This squad is just too inexperienced. zaheer khan could've been there to lead the pace attack, but nahh i guess he's too good for my team.

SLICKR392 Posted May 30, 2014 Posted May 30, 2014 I hope Jadhav gets a shot above Rayudu and Tiwary. BD just don't realize the amount form and runs these guys have behind them. A Tours, Ranji, IPL- you name it. Seems like a better squad than Asia Cup.

Won't read much into the batting performances on these pitches with our batsman but will be interesting to see how the bowlers perform.....also step up time for Samson.....coincidence dhoni made his debut against Bangladesh as well
