bulbul Posted January 20, 2016 Posted January 20, 2016 (edited) I don't know about the Sanghi sites, but the first claim can be found easily by a Google search. Challenge your Sanghi brain for a day and if you're not able to find it I'll provide the link. This is what I found in Google. Never knew World Bank is SanghiWorld Bank retains growth forecast at 7.5% for 2015-16The World Bank, however, lowered India’s GDP growth to 7.8 per cent in 2016-17 and to 7.9 per cent in 2017-18. The World Bank on Thursday retained India’s economic growth rate at 7.5 per cent for the current financial year on back of increase in capital expenditure. The retention of estimates are unlike those of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) which earlier this year revised India’s GDP growth rate to 7.4 per cent from an earlier estimate of 7.5 per cent for 2015-16.The World Bank, however, lowered India’s GDP growth to 7.8 per cent in 2016-17 and to 7.9 per cent in 2017-18. The earlier update, released in April had pegged GDP growth at 7.9 per cent next fiscal and at 8 per cent in 2017-18. In its latest India Development Update released on Thursday, it noted, “While growth will very likely remain above seven percent in the next fiscal year, there is significant uncertainty about the momentum of the economy.” -http://indianexpress.com/article/business/economy/world-bank-retains-growth-forecast-at-7-5-for-2015-16/ Edited January 20, 2016 by bulbul

chewy Posted May 31, 2016 Posted May 31, 2016 GDP rate of 7.9% for the January-March 2016 quarter, beats estimates
The Outsider Posted September 25, 2016 Posted September 25, 2016 A thread like this still exists as a sticky? Fudged up GDP numbers can only give a certain amount of visibility. Every other indicator like IIP, job growth, exports shows the shitty state of the Indian economy. All you need to do is travel to your nearest village to get a measure.

It's primarily in services and if you count FII, in services and stocks. The numbers in manufacturing are pathetic. India's main problem is jobs and those don't come with FDI but its distribution.

It is an inflow which creates a positive balance of payments position creating macro economic stability. Something the previous regime lacked with an acute BOP crisis in 2013. At a time when global FDI numbers are decreasing. An increase in FDI is an achievement worth mentioning. You need to stop being selective and take off that Samajwadi red cap. maniac 1
