lot of wet dreams here. like hell aaron will be picked by dhoni. bk-shami-ishanth-jadeja will be the "attack" and be grateful if ashwin gets picked over jadeja. bk-aaron-umesh-shami should have been the attack ideally

IF we take all our catches, our bowling will look doubly stronger. NZ series (or for that the home series vs England) would have seen a different result if we had held onto our catches. I had compiled a list from the NZ series 2nd Test Test 2nd innings 1st Test 1st innings 1st Test 2nd innings
exactly.Dunno why nobody mentions this.no bowling attack or captain can do mu if you drop so many catches.Even with 3 bowlers,we'd have won if we took our catches. We have to improve on that

They are trundlers but they bowled wicket taking deliveries and won the series. It's the quality in bowling that gets wickets.
bowlers bowling 85 mph are not trundlers. Prasad averaged 84 mph in 2nd innings, quickest 88 mph, similar speeds for Pradeep and Eranga. Eranga's quickest in fact was 92 mph in first innings, 88 and 89 by Prasad and Pradeep. Cannot say they are trundlers. All the three are fast medium if not fast like Shami and Aaron.

Fast to me is Steyn, Donald, Ntini, Nantie Hayward, Lee, Pat Cummins, Varun, Shami, Shoaib Akhtar, Milne, Shane Bond etc.

I would pick Pnakaj over Ishant. Both have similar pace' date=' both tall gets bounce, but Pankaj gets swing and seam too with a good seam position that is what Ishant lacks. He gets movement only when there is a lot of help in the pitch because of poor seam. Pankaj extracts even the slightest of help from the pitch, does bowl around 135 up 140-142 quickest. My attack would be Shami, Pankaj[b']/BK, and Aaron.
How could you !! how could you make the greatest indian bowler ever after kapil replaceable !!! IBBLASPHEMY !!! rage_boy_elvis.jpg

There is a category between trundler and fast. They are fast medium. Trundler was Kuladekra. They bowled some good bouncers. You do no expect trundlers to bowl good bouncers. Any bowler who is able to touch 85-88 mph isnt trundler. What they did is hit full lengths, not driving length but gave the ball chance to move in the air or off the pitch.

Ball has not swung much this season. Bowlers have got seam more than swing.

What matters to me is consistency in performance in terms of wickets and runs.

That for everyone, but probably of bowlers with decent pace along with decent consistency doing that is far more than a bowler with lesser pace. Example slower Kulasekara dropped, quicker Prasad came in and made the difference in 2nd test.

No matter how much you analyze, dissect.. as individuals Srilankan bowlers are pathetic bowlers. They worked as a team with good tactics aided by some ridiculous batting from England. We should never use this as a template. I rate Indian pacers above this pathetic Lungan bowling any day skillwise. But generally lungans have better onfield tactics. Also they can create artificial pressure on the field with endless screaming lol. If Dhoni instructs Ashwin to bowl outside the leg to cotnain runs then we can't buy a wicket.

The basics have to be done well first then they can think of getting consistency in performance. Otherwise as we have seen with our bowlers they will pick wickets for initial two years and then they flop.

PK was better among mediocre bowlers. I didn't say pace alone is everything. Even a pace bowler needs to do basic things right. Basics are same for everyone but if a pace bowler does that, he will be far more effective. Pace should not be a substitute for skill or vice versa. Both need to come together.
